According to Yang Qianduan's "History of Painting", Huang Gongwang, a great painter of the Yuan Dynasty, said: "His father was born in the nineties, and Huang Gongwang was long-lasting. So he took the name "Huang Gongwang" and the word "Zijiu". Qing Yuan was also elderly when he got his son, and he felt that he had come too late, so he was called "late".
