Li Huiying is from Guangxi, and 18 years ago, she married her husband from Ningyuan, Hunan. The two went to Boluo County, Huizhou, Guangdong Province, to work together, and gave birth to their eldest daughter Lily in 2004. Li Huiying said that although Lily grew up with a somewhat rebellious personality, her relationship with family and friends has always been good.
Li Huiying told reporters that in June last year, Lily graduated from junior high school. She was not a good student and was supposed to attend a vocational school last September. But due to quotas, she had to wait another year. During this long free time, Lily worked as a waitress at a local restaurant. Since the beginning of this year, Lily has been working at the Jinyu Hotel in the county. The family asked her what she was doing, and all she said was cash register at the hotel and worked the night shift.
In the early hours of March 16, a colleague of Lily called home and said that Lily was on the Dongjiang Bridge and looked like she wanted to jump off the bridge. When Li Huiying and her husband rushed to the scene, they only saw Lily's shoes left on the bridge. The daughter had jumped into the East River and was gone.
Afterwards, Li Huiying learned from Lily's colleagues that they all worked in KTV at Jinyu Hotel, and KTV had many underage girls like Lily, who accompanied guests to drink and their salaries ranged from three hundred to six hundred yuan.
Jumped off the bridge after three hours of drinking
Zhang Jing is a good friend of Lily's two years. She told the Jimu News reporter that before the incident, she also worked in the KTV of Jinyu Hotel, she did not do it for long, Lily did it for more than a month, and heard that Lily was introduced by a friend. Their daily job is to wait for the guests to come and drink with the guests.
Zhang Jing revealed to reporters that there was actually no review of their work when they went in, and they did not have much training. When the manager asked about her age, she lied that she would be able to pass the test as an adult. Zhang Jing said that later, someone wanted to check their ID cards to check the information, but she did not give it, but she could continue to work. There are several juvenile workers like her.
Zhang Jing said that they will sit in the KTV every day, if the customer needs, the service foreman will ask them to enter the box to accompany the wine, generally in the group as a unit, the number of team members depends on the number of guests. They managed to accompany a wave of guests to call a class.
On the evening of March 15, Lily accompanied the group to drink from about 8 o'clock to about 11 o'clock, drank a lot of wine, and drank vomiting blood. After this class, Lily ran to the Dongjiang Bridge alone and climbed onto the arch of the bridge. About half an hour later, Zhang Jing saw the video of Lily sitting on the East River Bridge that Lily sent her. Realizing that Lily may have to take her own life, Zhang Jing called out to two friends to rush to the bridge together.
Zhang Jing said that when the three of them rushed to the bridge, they tried to climb the arch, but were stopped by Lily threatening to jump into the river. Later, Lily called someone, and the more she talked, the more excited she became. On the other end of the phone, it could be her boyfriend. Zhang Jing's three people repeatedly tried to dissuade them without success, and in the early morning of March 16, Lily still jumped off the bridge and disappeared into the river.
The mother hoped to find out the cause of her daughter's death
Zhang Jing told reporters that after she rushed to the scene that night, she first called Lily's parents. But before Lily's parents arrived at the scene, she had already jumped into the river. After Lily jumped into the river, she reported to the Boluo County Public Security Bureau's suburban police station. After the police went to the scene to check, they let the three of them make a record. The police of Boluo County Water Police Station continued to carry out search and rescue work.
