Former member of the South Korean boy band BTOB, Jung Yi-hoon, was sentenced to two years in prison in the first instance in a drug-related case

According to Yonhap News Agency, the 22nd Criminal Collegial Division of the Seoul Central District Court in South Korea sentenced Jeong Yi-hoon, a former member of the boy band btob suspected of violating the Drug Management Law, to 2 years in prison and a fine of 133 million won (about 760,000 yuan).

Chung was transferred to trial in April this year, after allegedly remitting a total of 133 million won to purchase marijuana between 2016 and 2019, and sending 161 remittances. Prosecutors asked the court to sentence Mr. Cheng to four years in prison and a fine of 133 million won. Mr. Cheng pleaded guilty to all charges and requested leniency.

Brokerage firm Cube Entertainment said that Zheng Yixun had withdrawn from the group in December last year to avoid the impact of the group's activities on its drug case.
