Jung Yi-hoon, a former member of the South Korean boy band BTOB, attended the appeal trial at the Seoul High Court this afternoon, arguing that the first-instance judgment was too heavy to ask the court to change the sentence.
Zheng Yixun was sentenced to two years in prison in June this year for smoking marijuana 161 times between July 2016 and November 2019, with a total drug amount of 820 grams and a total drug money of 130 million won, and Zheng Yixun appealed shortly after the first-instance judgment was issued. In today's appeal trial, Zheng Yixun, who is serving a prison sentence, attended the trial in prison uniforms, arguing that the number of marijuana purchases and the number of marijuana smoking alleged by the prosecutors in the first instance were inconsistent with the actual situation, and the first-instance judgment was too heavy.
The Seoul High Court will hold its next hearing on the morning of October 7 to hear Jeong's drug abuse appeal.
