Chang Baoting is a representative figure of Changjia Xiangsheng, the third oldest among Chang Lian'an's sons, borrowing the nickname of the eldest brother Chang Baokun "Little Mushroom", known as "Three Mushrooms" by the circle and audiences familiar with him, and also known as "Chang Sanye". In the 1980s, Chang Baoting Bai Quanfu's "Moral Court" and "Zhuge Liang in Distress" and other cross-talk were the highest radio broadcast rates.
Chang Baoting (1929-2015) was born in Tianjin, and has been associated with cross-talk since he can remember, and he has never thought of doing anything else, he likes to say cross-talk. Father Chang Lian'an and the eldest brother Chang Baokun often practice at home, Chang Baoting first imitated, and then by the father and the eldest brother to teach by example, 9 years old on stage, 11 years old in the father founded the Qiming Tea House top field, he teased, the father gave him a hug, the grandfather and the two children are half the difference, but with tacit understanding, the audience said that the Chang family has another "mushroom".
At the age of 12, Chang Baoting worshiped his uncle Guo Rongqi as a teacher and officially entered the industry. Chang Lian'an evolved into the peasants of the city, and Chang Baoting and Chang Baohua played the sons of the peasants.

In the 1960s, his cross-talk work "Listen to the Radio" was a great success, and when he performed this work, a band played and sang in the background, and also absorbed the artistic characteristics of southern burlesque. In 1979, Chang Baoting and Bai Quanfu participated in the filming of the cross-talk film "Laughter", performing the cross-talk "A New Flower". In the 90s, Chang Baoting also starred in the cross-talk TV "Awkward Words".
The Chang family can create, of which Chang Baoting and Chang Baohua have the most creations, and are known as "cross-talk writers". In the 1970s, there were only two cross-talks in the country, one was Ma Ji and Tang Jiezhong's "Ode to Friendship", and the other was Chang Baoting and apprentice Wang Peiyuan's "Digging Treasure". In order to create this "Digging Treasure", Chang Baoting and the author Zhu Xueying experienced life in the factory and revised it many times.
