On the eve of the National Day in 1984, the Tianjin Qu Art Troupe held a ceremony for three young and middle-aged cross-talk actors, chang Baofeng, Hou Changxi and Wang Peiyuan. Chang Baofeng worshiped Ma Sanli, Hou Changxi worshiped Yan Xiaoru, and Wang Peiyuan worshiped Chang Baoting. Yan Xiaoru was a year older than Ma Sanli, but he was Ma Sanli's apprentice, and the two apprentices received apprentices on the same day. Wang Peiyuan's father, Wang Qisheng, was a Xihe drum actor, and tian Lianyuan, a famous critic, was Wang Qisheng's apprentice. At the age of 11, Wang Peiyuan was admitted to the Hexi District Opera School. Who knew that after more than a year, the drama school was dissolved, but fortunately Wang Peiyuan was photographed by Zhao Kuiying, the head of the Tianjin Quyi Troupe, and entered the Tianjin Quyi Youth Training Team to continue his studies. Also with Wang Peiyuan was his drama school classmate Zhao Weizhou. In the junior training team, Wang Peiyuan has been partnering with Zhao Weizhou. Later, they participated in the Tianjin Children's QuYi Performance and won the grand prize. In 1967, Wang Peiyuan was assigned to the Tianjin Qu Art Troupe and officially became a professional cross-talk actor. What really made Wang Peiyuan stand out was the cross-talk "Digging Treasure", and it was Chang Baoting who gave him a hug. On June 26, 1984, the National Cross-Talk Competition Seminar was held in Qingdao, which lasted half a month and ended on July 10. In order to coincide with the holding of the conference, the organizers held an observation and exchange performance. Chang Baofeng and Wang Peiyuan collaborated on the performance of "Not Satirical Referee", which was unanimously praised by the famous cross-talk artists and scholars attending the meeting.
During the meeting, Hou Baolin made an exception and accepted Shi Shengjie as a closed disciple. Wang Peiyuan, who is four years older than Shi Shengjie, also wants to worship shi. After returning to Tianjin, Wang Ji, then head of the Tianjin Qu Art Troupe, asked Wang Peiyuan, who do you want to worship? Wang Peiyuan said, I want to worship Chang Baoting.

Xiao Tao judged that Chang Baoting was not bent on teasing Wang Peiyuan, and if Chang Baoting's wife Yu Changmin had not spoken kindly for Wang Peiyuan, Chang Baoting would not have accepted Wang Peiyuan in all likelihood. Wang Peiyuan was very discerning, and his master Chang Baoting was later named the first representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage project in the Chinese cross-talk industry.

Speaking of returning to the worship ceremony of Wang Peiyuan, Chang Baofeng and others. Attending the ceremony were Hou Baolin, Luo Yusheng, Gao Yuanjun, Wang Fengshan, Zhao Zhenduo, Su Wenmao, Li Jindou and other famous artists, as well as more than 100 old gentlemen from the music and art circles in Beijing and Tianjin. Ma Sanli gave Chang Baofeng, Hou Changxi, and Wang Peiyuan a notebook and a Venus pen, and inscribed eight big characters on the notebook: "Study well and strive to be upstream" to encourage the three juniors.

That evening, a worship feast was held at the Dengying Building. Dengying Lou is a long-established brand in Tianjin, and Xiao Tao remembers that Tian Lihe worshipped Zhang Shouchen as a teacher and held a banquet at Dengying Lou. This kind of worship feast is actually a big gathering of beijing and Tianjin to go hand in hand. During the banquet, Hou Baolin, Su Wenmao and Chang Baoting toasted each other.
