According to the biography of Fang Zhimin, Fang Zhimin, formerly known as Yuanzhen, was born on August 21, 1899 in Hutang Village, Yiyang Lacquer Gong Town, Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. He was a well-known revolutionary, statesman, military strategist and outstanding leader of the peasant movement in modern times. He was also the founder of the revolutionary base area of "Fujian, Zhejiang, and Gansu" and the "Red Tenth Army" during the agrarian revolutionary war. Fang Zhimin was born into poverty, his parents are poor farmers, they can not afford the children's tuition, after several years of accumulation, they reluctantly sent 8-year-old Fang Zhimin to school. However, although Fang Zhimin studied very hard during his schooling, his family conditions were very limited, so after four years of school education, Fang Zhimin had no choice but to drop out of school and go home to help his parents do farm work.

For this helpless reality, Fang Zhimin could do nothing, but he did not give up on himself, nor did he accept his fate in this way. He continued his studies, and in his spare time after the end of his farm work, he often picked up textbooks and read them repeatedly. This scene touched the neighbors, so the simple villagers gathered to raise money and once again sent 17-year-old Fang Zhimin to the county high school. In the autumn of the same year, Fang Zhimin was admitted to Yiyang County Higher Primary School. During this period, Fang Zhimin came into contact with revolutionary and progressive ideas and put them into practice, and he organized the progressive group "Nine District Youth Association" on campus and began to take the initiative to contact revolutionary activities.

In July of the eleventh year of the Republic of China (1922), Fang Zhimin went from Jiujiang to Shanghai to proofread the Republic of China Daily and went to Shanghai University to observe. While living in Shanghai, Fang Zhimin joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League, and at the same time came into contact with the party organization, and got to know Chen Duxiu, Qu Qiubai, Yun Daiying, Xiang Jingyu and others, which became an important turning point in his life. In August of the same year, according to the decision of the organization, Fang Zhimin left Shanghai and returned to Nanchang, where he established the "Cultural Book Club" organized by the local league in Jiangxi Province, and established an activity base for Marxist propaganda. In March of the thirteenth year of the Republic of China (1924), Fang Zhimin joined the party with honor.

Since then, Fang Zhimin began to lead the revolutionary struggle, and in the nineteenth year of the Republic of China (1930 AD), he led the independent regiment to open up bases such as northeast Jiangxi and northern Fujian. In August of the same year, Fang Zhimin was elected chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of the Northeast Jiangxi Special Administrative Region. In the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934 AD), in the Battle of Tanjiaqiao, Fang Zhimin was unfortunately captured and imprisoned by the enemy army. In prison, no matter how severely the enemy tortured Fang Zhimin, Fang Zhimin did not say a word, and finally the enemy was ashamed and angry and killed Fang Zhimin in prison, fulfilling his revolutionary oath: "Work hard to death, struggle to death!" ”

In the Complete Works of Fang Zhimin, it is written that Fang Zhimin died at the age of 36, with three sons and a daughter under his knees. Fang Zhimin's eldest son, Fang Song, studied as hard as his father and grew up to become an intellectual. He worked as an engineer at Hongdu Machinery Factory and was a very good technician who was very popular among his colleagues. Unfortunately, Fang Song died in the early days of liberation. Fang Zhimin's second son, Fang Zhu (also known as Fang Ming), studied at Baumann Polytechnic University in Moscow, Soviet Union. After returning to China, he first worked as an engineer and then in the government department. Now he is retired and enjoys his old age at home. Fang Zhimin's fourth son, Fang Lan, was arrested at birth and cared for by his mother Miao Min, but a few months later, his mother was also captured by the enemy. After liberation, Fang Lan was found in Ci County, Hebei Province, and was able to return to his mother Miao Min. Miao Min, who has been working in Nanchang, passed away on November 22, 2018.
Fang Zhimin's third daughter, Fang Mei, was born in the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932 AD) and was sent back to her hometown by her mother Miao Min from an early age. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Miao Min sent her to the Jiangxi Provincial School for the Children of Martyrs. After graduating at the age of 22, Fang Mei began to work at the Jiangxi Provincial Ship Administration until her retirement. In her later years, Fang Mei devoted herself to collecting her father's precious living materials and compiling her father's biographies and books. She is now a director of the Jiangxi Zhimin Research Association, dedicated to promoting the spirit of resistance of her revolutionary ancestors.
