Chen Qimei was a revolutionary who made great contributions to the revolution, why was he called "Yangmei Dudu"

author:Zhang Shengquan's wonderful history

Chen Qimei, a native of Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, was born into a merchant family and came from a wealthy family at an early age, so he studied private school for 7 years.

It is said that Chen Qimei is extremely intelligent, he can read more than 2,000 words at the age of 5, and people at the time praise him for becoming a great instrument in the future.

Unfortunately, when Chen Qimei was 15 years old, his father died, and the family's situation also fell, and as the eldest son, he had to go out to earn a living.

Chen Qimei first worked as an apprentice in a pawnshop for 12 years, and later was recommended by someone to work as an assistant accountant in a silk store in Shanghai for another 2 years.

After the Gengzi Rebellion, the Qing government became weaker and weaker. In order to revitalize the country, therefore adopted the policy of "mastering the art of learning from the mastery to control the yi" and encouraged those with the will to study abroad and learn foreign science and technology and culture.

Chen Qimei also has this heart.

In 1906, with the financial support of his younger brother, Chen Qimei finally had the opportunity to study in Japan.

When Chen Qimei was studying in Japan, he joined the League.

Chen Qimei was a very capable person, he was eloquent, quick to act and had many ideas, so he attracted sun wen's attention.

At that time, the League held several uprisings in the country, but they were suppressed by the Qing government, and many revolutionaries were also killed. The royalists also had much criticism of the League, believing that its leaders were using the revolutionaries as cannon fodder while they hid abroad for pleasure.

For a time, the revolutionary enthusiasm of the people was greatly reduced, and the revolutionary work reached a point where it was difficult to advance.

In this case, Chen Qimei returned to China, using Shanghai as a base, hoping to reopen the situation.

When Chen Qimei was in Shanghai, he had many contacts with various gangs and became a big brother of the Green Gang.

In order to cover up the revolutionary activities, Chen Qimei took advantage of his status as the eldest brother of the Green Gang to often go in and out of liquor stores, brothels, bathhouses and other places. Especially in brothels, he simply soaked in them all day long.

According to the revolutionary Zhang Xiruo, the first time he met Chen Qimei was in a brothel. At Chen Qimei's suggestion, the girl had already avoided it, while he and Chen Qimei lay on the bed and whispered.

This way of deliberating is simply unique to Zhang Xiruo. However, Chen Qimei's office in the brothel is an indisputable fact.

Chen Qimei was very social, and he made friends with some celebrities and business elites and recruited them as members of the League. While promoting revolutionary sponsorship, he also mastered the armed forces of the merchant groups and chambers of commerce, so that the League had a fairly solid foundation in Shanghai.

In addition, in order to cultivate revolutionary forces, Chen Qimei also founded the Jingwu Martial Arts School and hired Huo Yuanjia as the chief teacher.

In the autumn of 1911, the Xinhai Revolution broke out, chen Qimei responded positively, joined forces with Li Xiehe to launch the Restoration Uprising in Shanghai, and won the victory. After that, various places responded one after another and made a fuss about independence.

Because of the far-reaching significance of the revolution, even Sun Wen praised him as "the southeast half of the wall, the key to the junshi lock".

After the independence of Shanghai, Chen Qimei was elected as the governor of the Shanghai Army.

However, Chen Qimei did not restrain in his behavior because he was a figure with an identity. He still went in and out of the sound and color place, so he was given the title of "Governor of Bayberry".

This title does not just mean that he is a prostitute who does not know how to converge, but in fact has another meaning.

Long before the Shanghai Restoration Uprising, Chen Qimei had already done a lot of revolutionary work. At that time, the leader of the GuangfuHui, Li Xiehe, also plotted against most of the Qing armed forces, so the two reached a consensus on a joint uprising.

Originally, the two agreed on a time for the uprising, but Chen Qimei thought that the reconquest of Shanghai was inevitable, so he took the lead and attacked the Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau with some revolutionaries and disciples of the Qing Gang on the night before the agreed time.

Chen Qimei wanted to persuade the defenders of the Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau to surrender and achieve the credit of peaceful restoration of Shanghai.

Who knew that the defenders saw that they were weak and weak, not only did they not buy it, but also took him down as a hostage.

When Li Xiehe learned of this, he immediately organized the Guangfu Army and the Qing army that had already rebelled to join forces with each other, captured the Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau in one fell swoop, and rescued Chen Qimei, who was bound in the toilet, and escorted him home.

Because of Li Xiehe's great merits in the Shanghai Restoration Uprising, he was later elected as the provisional commander-in-chief and was responsible for directing the operation.

After the independent establishment of the military government in Shanghai, when the Shanghai military governor was promoted, Li Xiehe's voice was the highest. However, Chen Qimei secretly instructed the gang members to make a big fuss at the venue. The gang members not only vigorously opposed Li Xiehe at the meeting, but also took out grenades and threatened that if Chen Qimei could not be the governor of the Shanghai Army, everyone would not think about it.

Li Xiehe, out of consideration for the overall situation, did not want the revolution to begin, and fell into infighting. So he politely resigned, and finally let Chen Qimei seize the position of governor of the Shanghai Army.

After that, Li Xiehe led the Guangfu army to retreat to the outskirts of Shanghai around Wusongkou to form a military and political sub-government, and Li Xiehe hung the name of a sub-governor.

Chen Qimei was very dissatisfied with Li Xiehe's behavior, and he thought that Li Xiehe was a disguised separation of power from him. In addition, he was by no means willing to regain the upper hand in the revolutionary process, so he secretly instructed people to assassinate Li Xiehe. Fortunately, Li Xiehe was highly vigilant and escaped in time to escape the robbery. Since then, however, he has been forced to leave Shanghai, while Chen Qimei has monopolized the credit for Shanghai's restoration.

Chen Qimei not only used the means of assassination on Li Xiehe, but then he used the same means against Tao Chengzhang, an elder figure of the Guangfuhui.

Tao Chengzhang is a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang, and is not only the same as Chen Qimei, but the two are still the same year. It is said that the relationship should be closer than the average person, but the personalities of the two of them are very different.

Tao Chengzhang is very righteous and very moralistic to his friends. He also has a straight personality, is devoted only to the revolution, and has no enthusiasm for eating, drinking and having fun.

Compared with Tao Chengzhang, Chen Qimei's life was much more corrupt. He has a bad habit of prostitution and gambling, and it is inevitable that he will often linger in the sound and color place.

When he was still in Japan, Tao Chengzhang once persuaded Chen Qimei in front of Sun Wen to quit these vices.

Chen Qimei believes that Tao Chengzhang deliberately embarrassed him in front of Sun Wen, so he hates Tao Chengzhang.

Later, Tao Chengzhang went to Nanyang to raise some revolutionary funds, and Chen Qimei proposed that he should control it. Tao Chengzhang immediately objected, and reprimanded in front of everyone, saying that this was the hard-earned money of overseas Chinese supporting the revolution, not for him to prostitute and gamble.

Since then, Chen Qimei and Tao Chengzhang have had a deep mustard.

After the restoration of Zhejiang, Tao Chengzhang became the most popular candidate for the governor.

However, Chen Qimei also wanted to seize the post of governor of Zhejiang, so he repeated the same trick and planned to assassinate Tao Chengzhang.

This time, Chen Qimei entrusted the assassination task to Chiang Kai-shek, who had always been under his care.

At this time, Chiang Kai-shek was still very young, and chen Qimei took care of everything. Coupled with his ear to the gang, Chen Qimei, who eats both black and white, naturally looks up to the extreme. Therefore, he obeyed Chen Qimei's words and was loyal.

After Chiang Kai-shek found out where Tao Chengzhang lived, he successfully completed the assassination plan.

After all, Tao Chengzhang was a veteran figure of the GuangfuHui and an influential figure among the revolutionaries, so after Tao Chengzhang was killed, it caused an uproar. Even Sun Wen indignantly said that the murderer must be severely punished.

However, the chaotic situation finally made Tao Chengzhang's death impossible.

Although Chen Qimei made great contributions to the revolutionary cause, Chen Qimei's vicious treatment of revolutionary comrades was criticized, so those who disobeyed him simply called him "Yangmei Dudu". On the one hand, it means that he is in and out of fireworks willow alley, and on the other hand, it also alludes to the fact that he is a "bayberry sore" in the revolutionary ranks.
