After Zhao Kuangyin captured Chai Rong's Later Zhou Jiangshan, he gave leniency to all of Chai Rong's sons and gave them a good death. Especially the original little emperor Chai Zongxun, Zhao Kuangyin did not embarrass him at all. He also gave him Danshu iron coupons and let him leave the prefecture instead of staying in the capital and detaining him, which was very reassuring to him.
However, Zhu Yuanzhang was not at all polite to Han Lin'er. When Liu Futong and Han Lin'er were surrounded in Anfeng by Zhang Shicheng's men, Zhu Yuanzhang sent men and horses to rescue Han Lin'er and place them in Chuzhou. At that time, the palace was built for Han Lin'er to live in. But later, Zhu Yuanzhang sent someone to take Han Lin'er to the heavens. However, on the way, Han Lin'er accidentally fell into the water and died. Han Lin'er's death, historically, is generally believed to have been done by Zhu Yuanzhang's subordinates.
Then, Zhao Kuangyin could tolerate the former emperor Chai Zongxun, why could Zhu Yuanzhang not tolerate the former emperor Han Lin'er?

(Zhu Yuanzhang stills)
Some people may think that this is because Zhu Yuanzhang, as a person, has an extremely strong desire for power.
Indeed, Zhu Yuanzhang's desire for power is very strong, and he is very unconfident. It was precisely because of his strong desire for power and lack of self-confidence that after he became emperor, he carried out the largest massacre of heroes in Chinese history. Zhao Kuangyin was just an exception, he had hardly killed heroes. The way of centralizing power is also a very gentle "glass of wine to release military power". And the way money buys power seems fair and reasonable.
This statement seems to make sense, but in fact it is biased. Why?
Because when he went to Anfeng to save Han Lin'er, it was Zhu Yuanzhang who went on his own initiative. At that time, Liu Bowen was opposed to Zhu Yuanzhang doing this. But Zhu Yuanzhang did not listen to Liu Bowen's words. Liu Bowen opposed Zhu Yuanzhang's actions, mainly because Chen Youyi and Zhu Yuanzhang were facing off at Poyang Lake at that time. Once it is not done well, Zhu Yuanzhang may be taken down by Chen Youyu, and he will also allocate troops to save Han Lin'er, which is a risky act in itself.
Of course, Liu Bowen said this, but it was only one aspect of not being able to save Han Lin'er. There is also a aspect, that is, if You save Han Lin'er, you can't dispose of him.
But Zhu Yuanzhang still went to save Han Lin'er. After being rescued, he was also ready to take Han Lin'er to Ying Tian. Liu Bowen finally used the "Mandate of Heaven" to persuade Zhu Yuanzhang. That is to say, according to the "demigod" Liu Bowen's snooping on the "Mandate of Heaven", it is Zhu Yuanzhang who "the Mandate of Heaven" belongs. Because of this, Zhu Yuanzhang left Han Lin'er in Chuzhou and did not insist on answering the heavens. Later, after the Battle of Poyang Lake ended, Zhu Yuanzhang defeated Chen Youyu and basically unified the south, before sending his men down to pick up Han Lin'er, and at the same time letting Han Lin'er drown in the water in the middle of the road.
(Stills of Han Lin'er)
Since the inability to tolerate Han Lin'er's existence was due to Liu Bowen's idea, this showed that in the eyes of everyone at that time, Han Lin'er was bound to die.
So, why do people, including Liu Bowen, think that Han Lin'er can't stay?
In fact, Zhao Kuangyin and Zhu Yuanzhang had such different opinions on the past emperors, which was different from the situation of the two people, and had a lot to do with it.
When Zhao Kuangyin seized chai zongxun's throne, in fact, before that, he had already completely emptied Chai Zongxun. The entire army system almost became Zhao Kuangyin's person. Although Li Chongjin, Han Tong, and others were opponents, Zhao Kuangyin had already eliminated these opponents after the Chen Qiao Mutiny, and Zhao Kuangyin had firmly controlled the entire imperial court.
Zhu Yuanzhang's situation is a bit like the situation when Yang Jian seized the throne that year. After Yang Jian seized the throne, he did not carry out large-scale killing. And it was Yang Jian who did not carry out the massacre, so as to ensure that the tragedy of the continuous change of dynasties during the Southern and Northern Dynasties did not occur.
(Liu Bowen stills)
Zhao Kuangyin also adopted this method to ensure that the Song Dynasty continued downwards, and the phenomenon of dynastic changes in the Five Dynasties period did not occur again.
However, Zhu Yuanzhang did not establish a state at that time, he was still only a prince of one side. Especially before the war with Chen Youyi, Zhu Yuanzhang was in a weak position. At that time, Chen Youyu's army was much larger than Zhu Yuanzhang's, and Zhu Yuanzhang and Chen Youyu had a hard collision, and whether there was any hope or not, Zhu Yuanzhang himself did not know. Therefore, although Liu Bowen told Zhu Yuanzhang that it was dangerous to save Han Lin'er, he would still do that. Because saving Han Lin'er took the initiative morally, Zhu Yuanzhang could thus get more support from the people.
But when Zhu Yuanzhang defeated Chen Youyu, the situation changed. Zhu Yuanzhang has already dominated the south, and for him, the most important thing is to unify the whole country. In this case, if Han Lin'er is still retained, it is difficult to ensure that no one with ulterior motives will use Han Lin'er to make a big fuss. Han Lin'er has been in the process of being used by others all his life, so such a thing will definitely happen.
In order to avoid extraneous branches, Zhu Yuanzhang let Han Lin'er die "accidentally".
