The Rokuro Temple, which lurks in the mountains

The Rokuro Temple, which lurks in the mountains

If there is a thick cultural treasure that is still not appreciated, you will feel infinite sorrow.

Liulang Temple is like this. It wasn't until the beginning of 2022 that I was really down-to-earth, and the Liulang Temple, which has been deep in the mountains for more than a thousand years, reappeared in the white.

Liulang Temple is located in Liulang Village, Qingtaiping Town, Badong County, Hubei Province. According to the "Zheng Xiang Family Tree", Zheng Xiang has two surnames, and this is passed down from generation to generation. The source: The real book is after the 49th generation of later Zhou Chai's descendants, the famous emperor Zhou Shizong Chai Rong.

In 959, Emperor Chai Rong of Zhou died, and the seven-year-old Emperor Chai Zongxun of Zhou ascended the throne. Zhao Kuangyin, who was inspected in front of the palace and returned to the German army, and Shi Shouxin and Wang Zhenqi, senior generals of the Forbidden Army, seized military power. In the seventh year of Xiande (the first day of the first lunar month in 960 AD), it was rumored that the Khitan united with the Northern Han Dynasty to attack the Zhou Dynasty in the south, and the chancellor Fan Qian and others did not distinguish between true and false, and urgently sent Zhao Kuangyin to lead the armies north to resist the enemy. The Zhou army marched to Chen Qiaoyi, and Zhao Kuangyin and Zhao Pu plotted and launched a mutiny, and the crowd put a yellow robe on Zhao Kuangyin and proclaimed him emperor (this is the "Chen Qiao Mutiny" in history). Subsequently, Zhao Kuangyin led his army back to Kaifeng and coerced Emperor Chaizong of Zhou to train the Throne, and after Zhao Kuangyin took the throne, he changed the name of the country to "Song".

In the sixth year of the Taiping Revival (981 AD), Chai Zongxun's second son Chai got off the bus and was taken from Kaifeng by Kou Gong to Chudi, living in Wuxia Badong, leaving his brother and escaping from each other, and the five sons born to his descendants, in order to avoid continued suspicion, moved south to take refuge in the deep mountains of the QingJiang River. The person who landed in Sanguan Zhengjia Village was Zheng Chunyang, the second son Zheng Wangyang, the second son zheng Wangyang, the third-house Zheng Qiuyang who returned to Baimaoling in Guizhou, and the fourth-house Zheng Dongyang in Shuibuya Houmen Village. Those who settled in the village of Liulang (known as "Sijia" in ancient times) in Qingtaiping were Xiang Wanyang. (Genealogy of Zheng Xiang and inscriptions)

After Xiang Wanyang fell to the "Four Jia" of Qing Taiping Town, during the war chaos of the Song Dynasty, Zhao Guangyi (939-997, real name Zhao Kuangyi, later changed his name to Zhao Guangyi to avoid his brother Taizu, and was the second emperor of the Song Dynasty. After taking the throne, he used political pressure, and in 979, he eliminated the Northern Han Dynasty and ended the division. He then took advantage of the victory and moved to Hebei and took four of the states. In June, he personally commanded the attack on Youzhou, and the siege could not be lowered. The Liao soldiers rushed to the aid and fought the Song army at the Sorghum River, and the Song soldiers were defeated and retreated. The four states that were captured in a row were lost again. In the chaos of the Northern Song Dynasty, Yang Yanzhao, the sixth son of the famous anti-Liao general Yang Ye, went out with his father and fought bravely and well, resulting in the defeat of the Liao state, and since then the Liao people believe that Yang Yanzhao is the sixth star (general star) in the sky, so he is called Yang Liulang.

During the Taiping Revival period (976-983), Yang Yanzhao was elected as an official. The imperial court sent him to serve as a deputy envoy of Chongyi as the governor of Jingzhou. At that time, the Yangtze River and Huaihe River were affected by disasters and poor harvests, and the imperial court appointed him as an inspector of the jiangsu and huainan capitals.

Later, because Yang Jiye's son Yang Qilang once played in the ring and killed the taishi Pan Renmeizi Pan Bao, Yang Jiye led the army to resist the Liao for the vanguard, Pan Renmei declared a personal vendetta and did not respond, causing Yang Jiye to crash into the front of Li Ling's monument, Pan Renmei also secretly killed Yang Qilang, Yang Liulang died nine times to break through, and after returning to the dynasty, he sued Pan Renmei, but because Emperor Song Taizong's concubine was Pan Renmei's daughter, the complaint was not only unsuccessful, but was persecuted. In order to avenge his father, Yang Liulang floated around the world. When Yang Liulang was an inspector in the Yangtze River at the time, because Sijia was located on the south bank of the Qingjiang River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, close to the Qingjiang River, he lived in seclusion in the "Sijia" for a period of time.

When he was living in seclusion in Siping, Qingtaiping, Badong, Hubei Province, Yang Liulang did not forget to rectify military discipline, strictly required his entourage to seek common development with local households, and set up a military village to prevent the intrusion of foreign bandits. Some of the accompanying soldiers were Hui nationalities, who did not eat local pork, so they had to kill cattle to improve their lives, and the soldiers chose to kill cattle in a small place called "Peach Ditch", because the spring water here is continuous, the four seasons are long, and it is an excellent place to wash beef. After the soldiers left, the locals renamed the "Peach Ditch" to "Cow Killing Cave" and has been followed to this day.

After the Yang family was killed, the Liao state repeatedly violated the territory, and the Song Dynasty was invincible, so it thought of the reclusive Yang Liulang. But the cases of the Pan Yang family have always been unsolved. Pan Renmei was the emperor's elder brother-in-law, with the support of the emperor; the Yang family had been loyal to Liang for generations, and Yang Liulang was the brother-in-law of Zhao Defang, the King of the Eight Sages. In the end, Wang Bao remembered Kou Zhun in the Qing official register, so he recommended Kou Zhun to the emperor, and forced by the power of the Eight Sages King, Emperor Taizong of Song transferred Kou Zhun to Kyoto with a gold medal. Kou Zhun received the gold medal and came to the capital, saw the emperor and the Eight Sages Queen, and was well aware of the difficulty of examining the case, so he found someone to arrange a fake Yin Cao Prefecture, took advantage of Pan Renmei's drinking too much, and took him out, Pan Renmei could not distinguish between true and false, Kou Zhun wasted a lot of twists and turns, and finally let Pan Renmei explain the process of framing Gong Yang Jiye and killing Yang Qilang, in the face of the facts, the emperor could no longer openly favor Pan Renmei, so he ordered the distribution of the army, and was killed by Yang Liulang on the way to the army.

In 967, after Yang Liulang left Sijia, the people living in the local area built a Liulang Temple in The Three Forks of Sijia in order to commemorate him. The scale of the temple is grand, in addition to the main hall, twelve rooms of size, stone and wood structure, covering an area of more than 2 acres. Since the completion of the Liulang Temple, the local residents have prospered to the family. The change of "four first" to Rokuro has been followed to this day.

The development of the Xiang clan continued until the middle of the Qing Dynasty, after the death of a local Xiang clan, he wanted to find a feng shui gentleman to find a cemetery, promising that if the husband saw the real land, the second half of his life would ensure that he had endless glory and wealth, Mr. Feng Shui listened to the promise, so he sincerely showed the xiang clan the true land, and after the death of the Xiang clan was buried, the descendants were more prosperous, and Mr. Feng Shui was blind because he saw the real land. A few years later, Xiang Shi forgot his promise and let Mr. Feng Shui grind for them all day. For three consecutive years, Mr. Feng Shui's complaints in the mill were heard by the apprentice who happened to pass by, and the apprentice met Mr. Feng Shui in the name of staying overnight in the dark of night, and Mr. Feng Shui told the apprentice that as long as he shot the phoenix when he saw the phoenix spreading its wings next to the cemetery, Mr. Feng Shui's eyes would open. According to the master's instructions, the apprentice squatted next to the cemetery until one day in the middle of the night, if he really saw the phoenix come out and spread his wings, so the apprentice took out a bow and arrow to shoot the phoenix, the master's eyes suddenly opened, the master and apprentice just happened to meet a cattle herding boy when he fled, so he entrusted the shepherd boy to send the tablet with the portrait of Liu Lang to Xiang's home address, and instructed the shepherd boy to warn Xiang Shi that the Liulang Temple needed to be relocated, and if it was not moved, there would be a great disaster. According to Mr. Feng Shui's instructions, the shepherd boy sent the tablet to the Xiang family's house, and relayed Mr. Feng Shui's preaching, so the Xiang clan relocated the Liulang Temple to a vegetable nest half a mile away from the three forks, which is now the "temple bag".

After the relocation, the Liulang Temple was built in the fifth year of the Qing Dynasty (1800 AD), and the scale is smaller than the original Liulang Temple, with only three main rooms and two side rooms. When the "four olds were broken", the Liulang Temple was destroyed, leaving many regrets.

After the completion of the Liulang Temple in Qicaiwo, the Xiang family living in the "Four, Six, and Seven" began to decline. Originally, there were seven huge sinkholes in Sijia Chong, and there were seven large willow trees on the side of the sinkhole, which were called the pillars of the "Seven Stars Lighting Lamp", and there were seven perennial inexhaustible ponds on the two sides of the rushing mountain, known as the lamp nest, and the "Qi Cai Nest" was the "dial lamp stick" that provoked the wick, so after the completion of the New Rokuro Temple, the lamppost was ready to extinguish the burning wick at any time. Soon, seven large willow trees withered for no reason, and seven ponds were drained. As the number of rings increases, sinkholes and ponds are buried due to geological changes. All that remains is the story and the thousand-year-old oil fir tree.

Today's Liulang Village, as a pilot for rural revitalization, the local government is comprehensively improving the new look of the countryside. The story of Rokuro and the Temple of Rokuro will surely be re-revealed to present a new countryside!
