Working at sunrise, resting at sunset, living a life of self-cultivation and self-feeding, he became the master of this region, thus igniting the fire of agricultural civilization here.
Xu You is the pioneer of the rich and fertile land of Xuchang, the sower of xudi civilization, the origin of Xuchangguan's name "Xu", and the ancestor of the Xu surname in the world. People call the land opened by the Xu You clan "Xu Tian"; the area where the Xu Yu clan operates is called "Xu Di", and the place where the Xu Yu clan lives is called "Xu Youzhai", and Xu Yu is buried here after his death.
The ancient story of Xu Youmu's cultivation of "Xu" has been passed down from generation to generation among the people. The ancient capital of Xuguo was located in the southeast of Xuchang County (now the Han Wei Ancient City Ruins Park). At the beginning of the founding of the people's republic, Xu Guo maintained close relations with the Zhou Dynasty. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, Xu Guo was still a strong state, and once participated in manipulating the politics of the Zhou Dynasty, supporting King Ping and establishing the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. In 481 BC, the State of Xu was destroyed by the State of Chu, and the descendants were scattered, taking the State as a clan, which is the "Xu" surname that ranks 28th in the New Hundred Great Surnames today.
20 kilometers east of Xuchang, there is a Xu youzhai in present-day Chenhuadian Township, Yanling County. Xu Youzhai mainly has Xu You's cemetery and the ruins of Xu's activities left over from ancient times. The village is located on a high hill, with an area of about 100,000 square meters, and there are Xu Yu wall half a week (about 35 meters) and Xu Yu tomb. Among them, Xu You's tomb is a circular tomb, the height of the tomb is 2.5 meters, and there is a tombstone in front of the tomb, which records xu You's life and the change of Xu's surname. It has become a sacred place for the world's xu surnames to worship their ancestors.
The Wen surname also belongs to the Xu surname, and Uncle Wen made it the ancestor. Therefore, Xuchang is also the ancestral root and birthplace of the Wen surname.
