In 1930, in a small mountain village in Jiangzhong County, Sichuan Province, a baby fell to the ground, and Huang Jiguang was born into a poor rural family.

When Huang Jiguang was six or seven years old, his father died of excessive oppression by landlords and illness and hatred. From a young age, Huang Ji worked long-term work for the landlord's family, cutting grass and herding cattle, and relying on his mother for his life. Liberation ushered in the winter of 1949. The village organized a peasant association, and Huang Jiguang became one of the first members of the peasant association, and because he had been oppressed by the landlords for a long time, he saved the landlords and became a militiaman.

On October 14, 1952, the Battle of Shangganling was fought.
