The reason why Xiang Yu, the king of Chu, lost to Liu Bang and ended up with a self-inflicted wound, in addition to his superstitious belief in force and his lack of benevolence, also had a lot to do with the benevolence of a woman and the fact that he did not know how to employ people. Xiang Yu did not know anyone in his life, and even the relatives around him constantly pit him, especially his uncle Xiang Uncle. So, how did Xiang Bo pit Xiang Yu? How did he end up?
Xiang Bo was Xiang Yu's uncle
Xiang Bo (Xiang Bo), courtesy name Bo , was the younger son of the famous Chu general Xiang Yan , Xiang Qu ( xiang Yu ' father ) , Xiang Liang ' younger brother , and Xiang Yu 's uncle . According to historical records, when Xiang Bo was young, he liked to act heroically and righteously, and once because of his uneven fight, he was given the protection of the Korean prince Zhang Liang on the way to escape, and followed him to avoid living in Xia Pi. Because of this experience, Xiang Bo and Zhang Liang formed a life-and-death friendship, and the relationship was not generally good.
In September of the first year of Qin II (209 BC), Xiang Liang and Xiang Yu's uncles and nephews responded to Chen Sheng and Wu Guang with troops at Huiji, and Xiang Bo rushed to meet them after hearing the news, and followed them across the river north. In June of the following year (208 BC), Wu Guang and Chen Sheng were killed one after another, and Xiang Liang followed the advice of Fan Zeng, a resident of The Nest, and installed Xiong Xin (also known as King Huai of Chu) as king, and restored the state of Chu. Xiong Xin was made queen of the Xiang clan, with Xiang Bo serving as Zuo Yin (equivalent to Zuo Cheng Xiang).

After Xiang Liang was killed by the Qin general Zhang Handan, the situation in the Chu state was once very unfavorable. In order to reverse the inferiority and complete the great cause of destroying Qin as soon as possible, the King of Chuhuai sent the generals Xiang Yu and Liu Bangbing to attack Guanzhong in two ways, and agreed that those who entered the Pass first to destroy Qin could claim the title of king in Guanzhong. Among them, Xiang Bo and Fan Zeng followed Xiang Yu and attacked the main force of the Qin army from the northern front, while Liu Bang avoided the main force of the Qin army and attacked Guanzhong from the southern front, thus destroying the Qin Dynasty in October of the first year of the Han Dynasty (206 BC).
After Liu Bang destroyed the Qin Dynasty, he obeyed the "bad idea" of the counselors and ordered the closure of Hangu Pass and not allowed the armies of the princes to enter Guanzhong. Xiang Yu was furious after hearing the news, personally led his army to break through Hangu Pass, and immediately garrisoned Xixi. Soon, Liu Bang's Left Sima Cao sent a report to Xiang Yu, claiming that Liu Bang was trying to seize Guanzhong as king, appoint zi bao as minister of state, and embezzle all the treasures of the Qin Dynasty. Cao's unharmed secret report made Xiang Yu extremely angry, and he immediately issued an order to prepare to attack Liu Bang, who was stationed in Bashang the next day.
Xiang Bo and Zhang Liang are good friends
Supposedly, Xiang Bo should support his nephew's plan unconditionally, but when he thought that his savior and close friend Zhang Liangshang was in Liu Bang's army, out of righteous inspiration, he rushed to Bashang overnight to see Zhang Liang, told him all of Xiang Yu's plans, and implored the latter to leave with him. However, Zhang Liang did not want to abandon Liu Bang, so he told the lord the news and signaled him to recruit and bribe Xiang Bo in order to "solve" his own crisis.
Although Liu Bang was not good at everything in Wen Taowu, he had been mixing in society for many years, but he had learned a set of skills to pull relationships and make friends. Therefore, after Liu Bang saw Xiang Bo, he first respectfully called him his brother, then gave him a toast, and when he was drunk and hot, he married Xiang Bo. Xiang Bo was a very moralistic person, plus Zhang Liang kept persuading from the side, so after a few glasses of yellow wine, he became warm with Liu Bang, and patted his chest to ensure that he would defend Liu Bang after he returned.
Xiang Zhuang wanted to kill Liu Bang, but was stopped by Xiang Bo
Xiang Bo was an honest "gentleman", and after returning to the camp, he defended Liu Bang in front of Xiang Yu, thus dispelling the latter's military offensive plan. At the same time, Liu Bang rushed to the Hongmen banquet with Zhang Liang, Fan Duo and others according to the agreement, and personally apologized to Xiang Yu. At the banquet, Xiang Yu's cousin Xiang Zhuang, following Fan Zeng's instructions, prepared to use the sword dance machine to assassinate Liu Bang. Seeing that the situation was critical, Xiang Bo drew his sword and danced with Xiang Zhuang, and used his body to tightly block Liu Bang, so that he would eventually avoid being killed.
Xiang Bo not only rescued Liu Bang twice, but also rescued his father Liu Taigong. It turned out that Xiang Yu had captured Liu Taigong during the Chu-Han War and used him as a hostage to blackmail Liu Bang for peace, but with little success. Xiang Yu saw that Liu Bang refused to negotiate peace, and in a fit of rage, he wanted to cook Liu Taigong to death, and then gave his meat soup to the soldiers to eat. At the critical moment, Xiang Bo resolutely dissuaded Xiang Yu, so that Liu Taigong escaped from death.
Xiang Yu committed suicide on the edge of the Wu River
Xiang Bo repeatedly helped Liu Bang, although he fulfilled his morality, but invisibly betrayed the family, and indirectly led to Xiang Yu's eventual forced suicide, which can be called a traitor to the Xiang family. Despite this, Xiang Bo did not seem to think so, and as soon as the war was over, he turned to surrender to Liu Bang. Out of gratitude, Liu Bang gave Xiang Bo great favors, not only crowning him as the Marquis of Sheyang, but also giving him the surname of Liu. At the same time, Liu Bang also pardoned other members of the Xiang family and granted titles of varying degrees.

Although Liu Bang made Xiang Bo a marquis, he did not fulfill his original promise, let his son marry a Woman of the Xiang clan as a wife, and no longer called Xiang Bo his brother. After the establishment of the Han Dynasty, Xiang Bo survived for another 14 years, until the end of his life in the third year of Emperor Xiaohui(192 BC). After Xiang Bo's death, his son Xiang Sui was supposed to inherit the title of Marquis, but because he had committed previous crimes, he could not serve as the Marquis of Sheyang. As a result, the Marquis of Sheyang was abolished and the land fell under the jurisdiction of the imperial court.
