In 1951, Li Jide, who responded to the call of the state, signed up for the volunteer army, but when he signed up, he told a small "lie", because he was only 16 years old at the time, afraid that the volunteer army would not want it, so he falsely reported his age to four years old and changed it to 20 years old. In this way, after Li Jide crossed the Border between China and North Korea in 1952, he was incorporated into the 1st Squad of 2 Battalions, 6 companies, 135 Regiment of the 45th Division of the Chinese Volunteer Army, and At this time, Huang Jiguang, who was also a correspondent in the same unit, became Li Jide's closest comrade-in-arms. To this end, the two also made an agreement - "if one party has an accident, he will visit the other party's home."
But no one ever imagined that soon after the promise was made, the most brutal battle in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the Battle of Shangganling, would be launched. In October 1952, Li Jide and Hwang Jiguang's unit was engaged in the Battle of Shangganling, and their troops were first tasked with capturing the 597.9 heights on the west side of Shangganling on the night of October 19, before which this force had fought fiercely with the "United Nations Army" and the South Korean army for 4 days and nights, with huge losses.

However, in the face of the orders issued by his superiors, Huang Jiguang's unit did not hesitate to throw himself into the task of capturing the 597.9 heights. However, in the process of advancing, it was suppressed by the enemy's dense firepower, and after successive failed charges, Huang Jiguang stood up and led 2 fighters to destroy multiple fire points in succession, at this time, Huang Jiguang's left arm had also been penetrated by enemy fire, and there was little ammunition left. When the troop charge was once again blocked, Huang Jiguang stubbornly crawled to the enemy's fire point, pounced on the enemy bunker firing hole with the last bit of strength, blocked the eye with his chest, and sacrificed heroically. And all this was witnessed by Li Jide, two days after Huang Jiguang's sacrifice, Li Jide, who was seriously injured in the battlefield, was also sent back to China, and then returned to his hometown.

"Mother Huang, Mother Huang, I'm sorry for you, I came late, 60 years of wishes have come true today", in front of the tomb of Huang Jiguang's mother, the elderly Li Jide finally completed the agreement between 60 years. On October 13, 2020, when the elderly Li Jide was a guest of the New Recruit Company of the Shandong Armed Police Corps, he said that as long as he lived, he would always tell the story of Huang Jiguang and pass on the spirit of Huang Jiguang.
