The existence of a giant in the forest, known as the Savage by the people, has always been a scientific mystery in China's scientific expedition experts and academic circles, which has been debated tit-for-tat for half a century. Unveiling the mystery of the wild man is the dream I have struggled for all my life, and it is also a great dream that Chinese scientific explorers have struggled for half a century.

Recently, through the screen, I saw the animal protection personnel and forest police in Yunnan, composed of 360 people, 76 cars, and 9 drones, the "elephant chasing team", using infrared thermal imagers, tracking and monitoring the whereabouts of the northward migrating Asian elephants, constantly photographing the elephants leisurely walking into the village, taking to the streets, eating and drinking human food and farmers' crops, and lying in the dense forest, which attracted my attention and caused me to think of mixed feelings.

As a member of the expedition team of the Strange Animal Science Expedition in Northwest Hubei, I really hope that in the era in which I live, I can find an entrepreneur who is interested in wild people living in the natural world, help me solve the research equipment such as infrared thermal imagers and unmanned aerial vehicles, and lead several scientific expedition assistants and collaborators to continue to struggle for the realization of the Chinese dream of unveiling the mystery of wild people. Even if the search for wild people in the shady alpine forest is a hundred times more difficult than the search for Asian elephants in the sub-forests of Yunnan, it will be difficult for me to succeed in the end, and I can fight for my lifelong scientific exploration and belief, and I have no regrets in life.

I was a third-year intellectual youth who walked into the deep mountains of Shennongjia as a lumberjack, and it has been 50 years since I went to the forest area. It was the fate and faith of life that made me form an indissoluble relationship with the wild people in the forest. Since March 1973, in the primeval forest on the southern slope of Shennongding, I have occasionally found mysterious traces of wild people, and I have been fascinated by wild people. Since then, my figure has begun to travel through the mountains and mountains of Shennongjia in northwest Hubei and the surrounding counties of Wushan, Wuxi, Zhushan, Fangxian, Baokang, Xingshan, and Badong.

Because my life is completely integrated with the deep mountains and forests, and by constantly lurking into the deep mountains and forests to live the life of a wild man, I not only have the privilege of witnessing wild people many times in the deep mountains alone, but I have also witnessed wild people many times together with my fellow scientific expeditions and the medicine farmers and hunters in the deep mountains. It is because the wildlings are running in the dense forest with a visibility of only about ten meters in the shade of the sun, and the speed is incomprehensible, that I have found the wildlings again and again through hardships, but because there is no high-tech research equipment, I cannot photograph the wildlings.

In the short period of several decades before and after the founding of New China, the local masses of the people, teachers and students, government officials, intellectuals, officers and men of the People's Liberation Army units who were close to liberation and bandits in the mountains, and many engineers in the early days of the development of Shennongjia, including some senior engineers and biologists, were reported from northwestern Hubei hundreds of times, involving thousands of people. Academician Wu Rukang, director of the Institute of Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who has always supported the investigation and research of wild people, and academician Jia Lanpo, a famous anthropologist, believe that if the mystery of the wild people that have been rumored for a long time in northwest Hubei can be unveiled, it will be the greatest discovery in the field of contemporary natural science.

In 1976, the Chinese Academy of Sciences specially dispatched Huang Wanbo of the Institute of Paleovertebrate Paleoanthropology, Yuan Zhenxin, director of the Beijing Ape Man Exhibition Hall in Zhoukoudian, and other anthropologists to Fangxian and Forest District to cooperate with Experts and Scholars such as Wang Shancai and Li Jian, who were the first to carry out the scientific investigation of wild people in northwest Hubei, to conduct an early investigation of wild people.

In June 1977, according to the reports of Huang Wanbo, Yuan Zhenxin, Wang Shancai, Li Jian, and other experts and scholars after carrying out an initial inspection in northwest Hubei, the state set up a "leading group for scientific investigation of strange animals 'wild people' in northwest Hubei" headed by Han Ningfu, secretary of the Hubei Provincial CPC Committee, Dong Xiaoshu, deputy director of the First Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wu Nong, secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wang Lijin, deputy commander of the Hubei Provincial Military Region, and Li Jian, deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Yunyang Prefectural Committee. Subsequently, the "Northwest Hubei Strange Animal 'Wild Man' Scientific Expedition Team" was officially established. In order to assist Zheng Haihang, Huang Wanbo, Yuan Zhenxin, Liu Minzhuang, and other anthropologists and biologists of the Institute of Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in carrying out savage investigations, the Wuhan Military Region also sent Wang Gaosheng, Deng Zesheng, and other unit leaders to lead a certain reconnaissance unit to assist the scientific expedition team in going into the mountains to search for wildlings.

The scientific expedition of savages organized by the state is completely normal scientific exploration activities like human beings searching for aliens in the vast universe. However, some experts in China who regard themselves as authoritative subjectively and speculatively suggest that there can be no wildlings in nature. Some of them put forward that "it is complete nonsense to think that there are wild people"; some put forward that "people who think that there are wild people are simply nonsense and fantasy"; some put forward that "if you think that there are wild people, you must come up with scientific evidence, and if you want to see people die, you must see corpses." It is not excluded that those who claim to have seen the wildlings are booing. It is absurd to organize an expedition of wildlings just because of how many witnesses claim to have seen wildlings. This can only be another mermaid incident." There are also experts who deny the wildlings, and even accuse that "conducting the so-called wild man investigation is a typical pseudoscience, and there is no academic debate on the wildlings problem, which is a problem of science and pseudoscience." There are also academic journals in response to some experts' denial of the views of the wildlings, specially published a commentary article "How can it be used to promote absurdity in the name of science", and some media also publicly published a statement on the front page of the newspaper: "Experts assert that wildlings do not exist." Because the conservative forces in the academic circles have always been like a fish in the throat to carry out the investigation of wild people, the use of public opinion tools has always been strongly opposed and blocked in every way, so that the state has organized several scientific expeditions into the mountains to search for wild people and can only be forced to get off the horse.

Savages are the most precious natural heritage that nature has left to mankind. Professor Ma Jianzhang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a well-known animal protection expert in China, believes that "primates are the masters of forests, and where there are forests, there are primates." As long as there are living conditions with a large area of land, primates are not likely to become extinct. ”

Savage is a humanoid ape-like animal, with short upper limbs, long lower limbs, no tail, a red hair, completely upright walking, facial features the same as humans, belonging to the high unknown primates. In today's China, there have been more than 20 unusually tall Wang Fengjun, Zhang Juncai, Zhao Liang, Huang Changqiu, Zeng Jinlian, Yao Defen and others. Among them, Wang Fengjun, who is 2.55 meters tall, wears shoes with a length of 75 yards and about 42 centimeters. In August 1980, the members of the scientific expedition team, by Meng Qingbao, political commissar and yuan Yuhao, a member of the scientific expedition team, found and tracked thousands of continuous wild savage footprints in the alpine forests in Zhushan, with a footprint length of 48 centimeters.

Wang Fengjun, Zhang Juncai, Zhao Liang, Huang Changqiu, Zeng Jinlian, Yao Defen and others are called giants by Chinese folk. However, except for Wang Fengjun, who is 2.55 meters tall, other Zhang Juncai and others are only 2.43 meters tall and 2.45 meters tall. The height of several female giants such as Zeng Jinlian and Yao Defen in China is only between 2.45 meters and 2.36 meters. According to the author and Fan Jingquan, Yuan Yuhao, Guo Jian and other scientific expedition members, in 1978 and 1981, in the process of discovering wild people, they observed that adult wild people living in alpine forests, they quickly walked to an average height of 2.50 meters in the southern slope of the main peak of Shennongjia Tianliang Ridge and Jianzhu Ridge in the vast forest sea, the wild people can also show their heads and shoulders. This indicates that the Savage is at least 2 in height. 60 meters or even close to 3 meters.

Because the wildlings are particularly tall, thick, and agile, they have a more ferocious fighting ability than tigers, leopards, wolves, black bears, and brown bears, which makes the wildlings have almost no natural enemies in the forest. Shennongjia and the surrounding seven counties belong to the Daba Mountain System, which stretches for tens of thousands of square kilometers, and the territory is full of high mountains, steep valleys, deep streams and dense forest barriers, which constitute the most suitable geomorphological environment for the survival of wild people. Coupled with the inexhaustible variety of plant tubers, seeds, berries, dried fruits in the forest, as well as the food crops of the mountain people in the connection with the forest, as well as the food chain composed of rich animal resources in the forest, it is these unique landforms, vegetation, food chains, so that wild people and many large mammals living in the forest, such as black bears, brown bears, tigers and leopards, giant pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys, can survive and reproduce from ancient times to today.

The living habits of wild people are the same as giant pandas, black bears and brown bears in the wild, they all live in alpine forests in the form of families, and have relatively fixed living territories. In order to forage, to survive and breed, in order to steal crops, wild people, like black bears and brown bears, can move freely alone, or two or three together. In order to seek mates in the territory of other wildlings, in order to hunt prey, in order to cross from the cold north slope of the mountain to the sunny and warm south slope of the mountain, they will often cross the road of the mountain and meet humans unexpectedly. Even in the twenty or thirty years after the savage scientific expedition team organized by the state was forced to step down, the local people, the engineering and technical personnel and tourists from all over the country who went to Shennongjia for inspection and sightseeing, collectively encountered the thrilling incident of the wildlings crossing the highway, and nearly 10 times as many as more than 50 people occurred.

In 2006, the "Proposal on Continuing to Organize the Shennongjia Savage Scientific Expedition" drafted by experts such as Researcher Wang Shancai, the organizer and initiator of the early Scientific Expedition to WildLings in China, and jointly signed by 46 experts and relevant leaders, was uploaded to the relevant leaders of Hubei Province and the state, and the relevant leaders of Hubei Province and the state quickly made important instructions such as "recommending organizing expert demonstration and consultation and settlement".

In the anxious days when I was expecting the relevant departments to organize our arguments, through continuous telephone contact with researcher Wang Shancai, I have worked day and night to draft an inspection plan and a budget for the purchase of high-tech inspection equipment and field research for two years. I also contacted some local collaborators who were able to go into the mountains. Only wait for the relevant departments to organize scientific demonstrations in accordance with the spirit of the instructions of several leaders of the state. As long as we solve the scientific investigation method, solve the high-tech investigation equipment and implement the start-up funds for the wild man's investigation, so that we can apply infrared thermal imagers, unmanned aircraft and other high-tech investigation equipment, first shoot the image data of the wild man, for China's scientific expedition experts to shoot the wild man, discover and confirm the feat of the existence of the wild man, I believe that the people of the world will be happy, the whole world will celebrate...

Everything is ready only to owe the East Wind. However, at a critical moment, due to a ridiculous incident that occurred in Shennongjia, it attracted the attention of relevant departments, causing many domestic experts to question the organization of savage inspections, believing that wild people belong to folk strange talk, and reorganizing the savage inspection was to hype shennongjia tourism. The competent forestry department specially issued a document with the main content of "wild people belong to folk strange talk, there is no need to organize inspections, do not organize, do not participate, and do not speculate". Thus disillusioning my plan to reorganise the Savage expedition.

Countless Chinese savage scientific expedition experts and savage expedition volunteers, in order to search for wildling in the isolated deep mountains and forests that are often rainy and foggy, they not only have the danger of encountering poisonous snakes and beasts at all times, because they are in the alpine forests of northwest Hubei where there is rarely sunny weather, there are often extreme weather, many expedition members and the author, because of the rainstorm, lightning, fog, hail, low temperature, frozen weather in the mountains, have encountered nine deaths and a lifetime of suffering when searching for and tracking wildlings.

The expedition team members sacrificed their lives to pursue the savages, and only wanted to realize a great Chinese dream. But no matter how hard the Chinese expedition members fight with all their lives in order to pursue the wildlings, some experts who regard themselves as authoritative will always carry doubts, ridicules, and accusations, or for the sake of sensationalism, or for the sake of rubbing heat, they want to make comments in vain, irresponsibly deny the cause of scientific exploration of wildlings, and even vigorously oppose them in front of pseudoscience, so that we want to carry out a scientific exploration of wildlings that is beneficial to the study of human origin and evolution. Because it is difficult to climb over the sinister mountain of conservative forces in academia, it is difficult to get the understanding and support of society and it becomes more difficult and difficult.
