The Australian boy was struck by lightning and survived wearing rubber-soled shoes

According to the Metropolis Daily on October 27, a 14-year-old student in Australia was struck by lightning on his way to school and survived because he wore rubber-soled shoes.

On Friday, 14-year-old Talyn Rose was walking to school when a bolt of lightning bounced off a metal pole, passed through his body, and finally flew out of his arm. Talyn fell to the ground, his muscles tense and numb, losing sensation and hearing for a full minute. A dad who was sitting in the car saw him and took him to school, where the boy's mother and ambulance crew arrived. Talyn slowly recovered and was later taken to the hospital for further examination. The doctor told his mother that the rubber-soled shoes his son wore saved his life. Talyn was no longer in serious trouble, except that there were scar marks on his feet and shoulders left by lightning strikes, caused by the rupture of blood vessels caused by the exothermic heat of lightning, and these marks slowly disappeared after three days. According to Australian Geographic Magazine, about 1.6 million people in Australia have been struck by lightning. (Compiled and reported by China Youth Network)
