Snowflake Welcome Song
Thunder Storm
The day before yesterday, Beijing blessed a snowy snow that was flying up one after another,
Transforming the Forbidden City into a fantastic sight;
Winter snow in Vienna,
Also beyond the heavy mountains and the blue Danube,
Draped the Golden Hall in a festive costume;
Oh snowflakes, dear friend,
Where are you from,
Pure and romantic, crystal clear,
Will my hometown be dressed up as extraordinarily charming?
Where are you going again,
Dancing gracefully, skillful hands flying,
Wrapped in silver in his hometown overnight?
Snowflake, do you also have a name?
Some people praise you as a beautiful fairy tale in winter,
Some people say that you are the lovely elf of the north country,
Some people say that you are like a thousand trees and pear blossoms in spring,

Snowfall on the Vienna Woods, Snowfall on Schönbrunn Palace, Hofburg,
You speak in unique languages,
While reciting the heroic poems of the Tang Dynasty poet Gao Cen,
"Ask where the plum blossoms fall, the wind blows all night all over the mountain"

O, snowflakes, my dear friends,
Where are you from?
You are so pure and romantic, crystal clear,
You dressed up my hometown and gave it glamour.
Where are you going?
You dance with elegance, your skilful hands twist and turn.
You put a silver outfit on his hometown to give it allure.
Snowflakes, do you have a name?
Some praise you as a beautiful fairy tale in winter,
Some compare you to the sweet spirit of the north,
Some say you are like the pear blossom
On a thousand trees in spring,
Some say you are a messenger of good luck
Auguring a prosperous year;
You visit the human world year after year,
You become the true love of children and ice-skaters;
Children speak you with joy,
You are the snowmen’s smiling faces, fat tummies and long noses,
They bring a landlord hat to protect you from freezing wind and cold

The snow fell on the green pine trees and winter plum blossom,
The snow fell in the Vienna forests
The snow fell on the Palaces of Sch nbrunnand Hofburg,
You speak your secret language,
Reciting the poem of the Tang Dynasty poet GAO Cen,
‘Where is the plum blossom falling?

You are in the wild places, you are atop the mountains,
You are before our eyes, you are in the middle of our hearts;
You are on the Qin Ridge, the Yellow River, the Tai Mountain and the South Mountain,
You are in the Alps and in Innsbruck
You are on Mount Everest and the ice of the North Pole,
You are on the ‘Silk Road’ and the ‘Old ways of Tea and Horses’.
You work in unison, move forward hand in hand,
Singing songs of festive blessings,

Alan Macfarlane is a professor of social anthropology at the University of Cambridge, a fellow of King's College, Cambridge, and a fellow of the National Academy of Sciences.
Professor MacFarlane, known as the "cute grandfather" of the academic world, studied at the well-known private schools in the United Kingdom, "Dragon School" and "Sedbergh Secondary School", and then obtained an undergraduate and doctoral degree in history from Oxford University, and a doctorate in social anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, teaching at Cambridge University for more than 40 years. As a world-renowned historian and anthropologist, he has written more than 20 kinds of works, including "The Origin of British Individualism", "The World of Glass", "Green Gold: The Empire of Tea", "The Japanese Mirror in the Middle", "Capitalist Culture", "The Birth of the Modern World", etc., which have been translated into many languages, many of which are in Chinese translation.
His research on the global impact of glass and tea has had an important impact on the scientific, humanities and social sciences and art worlds, and has been published by the world's top magazines and publishing houses such as Science Science.

POETRY FESTIVAL, Cambridge, UK
Introduction
Since 2015, the Cambridge Xu Zhimo Poetry Art Festival has been held every summer at King's College, University of Cambridge, where contemporary poets, artists and scholars from the United Kingdom, Europe and China gather on the banks of the Kang River depicted in the popular poem "Farewell to Kangqiao" by Chinese poet Xu Zhimo, reciting poetry exchanges, holding academic seminars, concerts and themed art exhibitions.
This annual event, chaired by Professor Alan McFarland, a tenured fellow of King's College Cambridge and custodian of Xu Zhimo's Garden and Poetry Monument, has received strong support from the College and people from all walks of life.
After seven years of development, this poetry festival has become one of the largest and most influential Sino-British cultural exchange activities in the UK, providing an international exchange platform for contemporary poets, artists and scholars from all over the world, encouraging both sides to deepen their understanding of each other's culture and history.

The annual Cambridge Xu Zhimo Poetry Art Festival is carried out in the form of theme activities.
