"Wake up and feel very much in love with you" - because of this sentence, it was recited by guests on the CCTV "Readers" program, and Zhu Shenghao was called "the most love talker in the world" by netizens. In fact, this is a fragment of Zhu Shenghao's letter with his wife Song Qingru.
On December 18th, the exhibition of the 75th anniversary of the death of Mr. Zhu Shenghao was launched, and the launching ceremony of the "Representative Translation Library of Chinese Translators Zhu Shenghao" was held at the Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University.

Zhu Shenghao, a native of Jiaxing, Zhejiang, is also a 1933 graduate of the Department of Chinese Literature of Zhijiang University (the predecessor of the Chinese Department of the College of Humanities of Zhejiang University).
In fact, in addition to being a poet, Zhu Shenghao has another more important identity - a translator.
"Zhu Shenghao's translation of Shakespeare is a peak in the history of the translation of Chinese literary and artistic works. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the country was in danger and the war was raging, and in the face of the Japanese ridicule of China's lack of a Shakespeare translation, Zhu Shenghao translated 31 and a half Shakespearean operas. During this period, the manuscript was destroyed twice, and he restarted it three times. Guo Guoliang, deputy director of the China Translation Institute, said at the scene.
Wu Jiemin, author of "The Biography of Zhu Shenghao" and retired professor of the School of Foreign Languages of Zhejiang University, believes that among the many Shakespearean translations today, Zhu Shenghao's translations are the best, "His works have entered thousands of households in China, and in 2013, the China Library Society included the Zhu Shenghao translation of Hamlet in one of the hundred books of Chinese family ideals." ”
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Zhu Shanggang, son of Zhu Shenghao, on behalf of Jiaxing Municipal Library, donated a photocopy of Zhu Shenghao's Translation of Shakespeare's Manuscript to Zhejiang University Library.
The manuscripts are full of annotations and revisions, and Wu Jiemin said that after each chapter translated, Zhu Shenghao would repeatedly deliberate, and he also proposed to recite it as a theatrical actor, check whether the tone was smooth, and then make changes and even retranslate. "Because of this, his translations are like clouds and flowing water, full of Chinese rhythmic beauty, and achieve classics."
At the same time, the Zhonghua Translation Institute's "Representative Translation Library of Chinese Translators, Zhu Shenghao Volume" was also unveiled at the ceremony.
The commemorative exhibition of Zhejiang University Library is divided into six sections in chronological order, "Hard Reading in the Cold Window", "Coming to the River", "Entering the Bookstore", "Translating Sha's Ten Years of Life Songs", "The Complete Works" Came Out, and "Forever Poet Sha Soul", supplemented by physical objects and reproductions of Translated Sha works, translation manuscripts, and letters.
On the first floor of the Zhejiang University Library, the "Special Topic in Memory of Mr. Zhu Shenghao" was also launched, bringing together 21 publishing houses, a total of 38 editions of Zhu Shenghaosha's translations, as well as his biographies, collections of letters, current political essays, etc.
The exhibition of the 75th anniversary of Mr. Zhu Shenghao's death is sponsored by the Library of Zhejiang University, co-organized by Zhu Shenghao's Former Residence and the Alumni Association of Zhejiang University. The exhibition is located in the hall on the first floor of the basic branch of Zhejiang University Library Zijingang Campus, and the exhibition period is from December 18, 2019 to January 10, 2020.
