From October 19 to 23, 2021, in order to deeply explore the growth footprints and revolutionary history of Zhang Yonghe, the first party branch secretary of Jiaotong University, dig deep into the red gene of Jiaotong University, enrich the resources of party history and education, and strengthen the cooperation between schools and places in the study of party history figures, 7 people from the Archives And Culture And Expo Management Center went to Yunnan Province and visited The First Middle School of Zhang Yonghe Middle School, the Party History Research Office of Luxi County, the Red Series Sites of Luxi County, and zhang Yonghe's hometown in Mile City.

The focus of the survey is on various places in Yunnan that are closely related to Zhang Yonghe's study, life and revolutionary work. During the yunnan period, the research activities were highly valued and strongly supported by relevant departments and the alumni association of Yunnan Jiaotong University. Dong Ping, deputy governor of Luxi County, and Dong Ping, director of the Luxi County Party History Research Office, held a discussion with the research team and their entourage, and fully exchanged views on Zhang Yonghe's research status, sharing and excavation of historical materials, future cooperation directions, and protection and development of revolutionary sites.

After the meeting, the deputy county magistrate and the new and old comrades of the Party History Research Office accompanied the research group to visit the former residence of Luxi County, the Ancestral Hall of zhang Clan, and the Temple of Literature, where Zhang Yonghe lived and studied, and the former residence of the former residence of Tugezhai Village, Dongshan Town, Mile City, and inspected the former sites of the Milu Prefectural Committee of the CPC and the Provisional First People's Government Commissioner's Office of the Yunnan Guiqian Border District where Zhang Yonghe worked revolutionarily (now the Luxi County Party History/Revolutionary History Exhibition Hall), the former site of the Yunpeng Library of Luxi Normal School, the ancient village of Chengzi, and the former residence of He Xianlong.

The researchers also went to Kunming to visit Zhang Yonghe's descendants and researcher Wang Yuanfu, former director of the Yunnan Provincial Party History Office. Zhang Yong, his eldest daughter Zhang Yuanjin, and his third son Zhang Yuankun emotionally recalled his father's years of study and revolutionary activities, and his grandchildren Wang Shuping, Zhang Qin, and Liu Wenmin also recalled the time they spent with their grandfather (maternal grandfather) and their words and deeds, and donated several letters from Zhang Yonghe. Zhang Yonghe and his nephew Zhang Jihe also donated to the visitors, such as the ancient and simple household pairs and wadangs in the birthplace of Tuogezhai Village, enriching the school's collection of red documents and materials on early party history figures.

During the investigation, Zhuo Wenyuan, honorary president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Yunnan Alumni Association, Na Qinxiao, vice president and secretary general, and other relevant responsible persons warmly contacted and received the research team.

This trip to Yunnan to carry out party history search and investigation is the first time that Shanghai Jiaotong University has visited Zhang Yonghe's hometown in Yunnan to completely search for the red imprint of Zhang Yonghe, the first secretary of the party branch of Jiaotong University, to trace his life trajectory from birth and study to participating in revolutionary activities in Yunnan, and it is also an important part of the school's upcoming party history compilation project "Research on Party History Figures of Jiaotong University". On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, we will retrace the red footprints of Jiaotong University, relive the red memory of Jiaotong University, feel the original mission of the communists of Jiaotong University, be baptized in the red spiritual genealogy, and draw on the strength to forge ahead.

Attached: Biography of Zhang Yonghe Zhang Yonghe (1902-1992), also known as Zhang Zhizhong, was a native of Luxi County, Yunnan. In 1923, he was admitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering of Nanyang University (then named Jiaotong University), joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League in December 1924, became a member of the Communist Party of China in April 1925, was the first member of the Communist Youth League and the first member of the Communist Party of China of Jiaotong University, and in the same year developed Lu Dingyi, Chen Yusheng and other Jiaotong university students to join the league and join the party, founded the Jiaotong University party group organization, and served as the first secretary of the party branch. In May 1925, he was elected chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Students and participated in the organization and launch of the May Thirtieth Movement.

In July 1926, zhang Yonghe left school and successively served as the secretary of the CPC Shanghai Fanan District, Hudong District, Huxi District and Huzhong District Committee. In 1927, under the direct leadership of Zhou Enlai and Luo Yinong, he was responsible for organizing and leading the third armed uprising of workers in Shanghai's Hudong District, and was later transferred to the Party Central Committee. At the beginning of 1928, he was sent to Hubei to rebuild the party organization and served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the director of the organization. At the end of 1928, Zhou Enlai sent Zhang Yonghe back to his hometown of Yunnan Provincial Committee on behalf of the Central Committee, and served as the secretary and standing secretary of the Yunnan Provisional Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the secretary of the Yunnan Special Committee.

In May 1930, he was arrested and imprisoned for the destruction of the CCP's Yunnan Provincial Party Organization, but was later rescued from prison by the patriotic general Zhang Chong. In 1944, he became the principal of Yunnan Provincial Luxi Normal School, actively guiding students to participate in democratic revolutionary activities. After the liberation of Luxi, he was elected as the first county magistrate of the county people's government. After the founding of New China, it was once affected by political movements. In 1985, he was completely rehabilitated, restored his party membership, and served as a special invited member of the Fourth and Fifth Yunnan Provincial Committees of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference.
