In 1931, Zhuo Lin was selected as a member of the Yunnan sports delegation to go to Beijing to participate in the National Games. At that time, there was a joke about workers and peasant cadres circulating in Yan'an, and this joke left a deep impression on Zhuo Lin.

After a worker and peasant cadre and a young female intellectual got married, the two went for a walk by the river, and the young woman of knowledge looked at the moon in the sky and said to her husband, "You see, the moon in the sky is so beautiful!"
