Zhuo Lin was born on April 6, 1916 in Pujiashan Village, Rongcheng Town, Xuanwei County, Yunnan Province. She was born in a family of giant merchants, and her father, Pu Zhongjie, was a famous ethnic industrialist in the southwest of Zhenzhen. When it comes to Pu Zaiting, many people do not know, but they must know a very hot ham brand "Xuanwei Ham", he is the founder, the famous "Ham King" in Yunnan. As the founder of the Century-old brand of Xuanwei Ham, Pu Zaiting introduced the earliest canning production line in the industrial history of Yunnan in order to develop industry and support the cause of the national revolution. He funded the Yunnan Patriotic Movement and participated in the Patriotic Movement initiated by Sun Yat-sen, and was awarded the Fifth Class Jiahe Medal by Sun Yat-sen. He also sponsored Sun Yat-sen to establish the Whampoa Military Academy, and was later appointed by Sun Yat-sen as the vice president of the National Chamber of Commerce for his meritorious service in the Northern Expedition, and awarded him the rank of major general. Sun Yat-sen personally wrote the book "Major General Di" to give away, and this plaque is still in Pu Zaiting's former residence.
There are such revolutionary enthusiastic fathers, and the sons and daughters of the Pu family are all revolutionary heroes, all of whom shine on different fronts for the revolutionary cause of the nation. The same is true of Zhuo Lin, who is the seventh child in the family and the youngest. Her father named her Pu Qiongying, hoping that she would be like Qiu Qiongying, the first daughter of Liangshan in "Water Margin", who would not let her eyebrows be shaved.
Zhuo Lin has been talented since childhood, and has a superior courage. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War in 1931, she was selected as a member of the Yunnan Provincial Sports Delegation and became a representative of the 60-meter sprint in the junior group to participate in the National Games held in Beiping. When we arrived in Hong Kong from Yunnan, the "918" incident broke out. The three northeastern provinces fell, the Games could only be canceled, and the Yunnan team had to withdraw. Only when he arrived in Hong Kong was about to return, he was unwilling and reluctant, so he wrote to his brother, saying that he would not return to Yunnan and asked to go to Beiping to study. It was also this choice of hers that determined her later life and embarked on the road of revolutionary cause. After the family agreed, he traveled to Beiping through Shanghai and studied in a cram school for several months. In 1932, he was admitted to The First Girls' High School in Beiping. This is the best girls' middle school in Beiping, the school spirit is pure, the students are active in their thinking, and Marxist ideas are spread among young intellectuals. The lively and cheerful Zhuo Lin quickly adapted to the learning environment here and met some like-minded friends, including the famous film actor Zhang Ruifang.
After graduating in 1936, he was admitted to the Department of Physics of Peking University with excellent results, and was the first person in Southwest China to be admitted to Peking University. In the era when women were rare in reading and men were mostly from the literature, Zhuo Lin chose the most difficult physics department in science and engineering was undoubtedly a female academic bully. And in that period, there was only one woman studying physics who was Liu Shaoqi's wife, Wang Meiguang, the "Queen of Mathematics".
Love at first sight has been inseparable for 58 years
In 1937, the July 7 Incident, Japan launched a full-scale invasion of China, and Peiping fell. When the country is in trouble, Zhuo Lin wants to take the road of industry to save the country, but it seems that it will not work. Unwilling to be a slave to the country, Zhuo Lin resolutely chose to devote herself to the revolutionary cause, traveling through Tianjin to Qingdao and then to Jinan, and finally arrived in Xi'an and found the eighth route army office in Xi'an at that time. Later, after a long journey of seven days and seven nights, we finally arrived at Yan'an, the holy land of revolution that Chinese youth yearn for.
In 1938, after Serving as the captain of the first phase of the Twelve Teams in the Northern Shaanxi Engineering School, Zhuo Lin was transferred to a special training in the Security Department of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Special Administrative Region Government. It is precisely because of the special needs of revolutionary work that Pu Qiongying has since become anonymous and officially changed her name to Zhuo Lin. At this time, Zhuo Lin was no longer just the young student with revolutionary enthusiasm in the school, but a real revolutionary, an unswerving communist fighter who decided to dedicate her life to the revolutionary cause.
It was during such a critical period that she met her life partner, Deng Xiaoping. This year, Deng Xiaoping was thirty-five years old and Zhuo Lin was twenty-three years old, and he fell in love with her at first sight, and his first thought was: marry her. At that time, Zhuo Lin did not know much about Deng Xiaoping, only that he was a Soldier of the Red Army, a general of the anti-Japanese front.
In her later years, Zorin recalled:
"He (Deng Xiaoping) came back from the front and lived with Deng Fa in a cave dwelling. I work in the Ministry of Public Security, and they often come to the Ministry of Public Security, because there are many female comrades in the Ministry of Public Security, and they often come to the Ministry of Public Security to play. Sometimes he told us to go to where they lived, and he probably had an interest in me at that time, I don't know. He went to my girlfriend who had come to Yan'an with me, asked a girlfriend to talk to me, said he wanted to marry me, and asked me if I agreed. That girlfriend talked to me twice, and I didn't want to. I said I was too young to get married so early, so I refused. ”
In this way, Deng Xiaoping twice entrusted people to talk about the media, but she refused.
However, Comrade Deng Xiaoping did not give up, and he personally invited Zhuo Lin and had two divine talks with her. He studied in France and then went to the Soviet Union to study Marxist thought. Gradually, Zhuo Lin realized that although this revolutionary comrade was born poor, he talked a lot, and was an intellectual with ideals and achievements. Soon, Zhuo Lin was attracted by Deng Xiaoping's personality charm, Zhuo Lin said, "Anyway, sooner or later, I have to get married, I am already 23 years old, forget it, ok, let's say that he is still very good." The two thus began an evening cave dwelling in early September 1939, and they married together to become a lifelong bond. Living conditions in Yan'an were very difficult at that time, and this extraordinarily simple wedding was held in Mao Zedong's cave. At the same time, there is another couple of newcomers, Kong Yuan and Xu Ming. At weddings in that era, the newlyweds did not have wedding dresses, no heavy makeup, no gorgeous decorations, no feasts like mountain treasures and seafood, some were just the uniforms of the Eighth Route Army even stacked with patches, and rough small rice, but the two couples were so heroic and cool, and their faces were full of happiness and vitality unique to revolutionaries.
Zhuo Lin and Deng Xiaoping have spent 58 years together, and their love is like a mellow wine, and the older the vintage, the more mellow and delicious it is. Whether it was the encirclement and suppression of the Taihang Mountains or the crucial Hundred Regiments War, the two did not abandon each other, and they frothed each other in the most difficult days. On the eve of advancing into Dabie Mountain, Deng Xiaoping strictly ordered the troops that no one should bring their families. Zhuo Lin could not accept herself staying in the rear, she found Deng Xiaoping, determined to say anything to go to the front with him, Zhuo Lin said, "I am a Communist, you have no right to stop me from going to the front, you just kill my head, you can't stop me." Their love became more determined in the battlefield of life and death, and finally, the war ended, the two ended their days of living in uncertainty, and their lives gradually stabilized. After experiencing various life and death tests, the hearts of the two are closer, and from now on, no one can be separated from the other, only death is not separated.
After the founding of New China, Zhuo Lin always accompanied Deng Xiaoping. Zhuo Lin was born into a famous family, a talented woman at Peking University, and a revolutionary fighter, enough to take on a big responsibility, but for so many years her work was only to be Deng Xiaoping's secretary, and she did only the most tedious and ordinary small things. In 1952, Deng Xiaoping was transferred from the Southwest Bureau to the Central Committee, and Zhuo Lin came to Beiping with her children. During this period, several times the unit and group asked her to participate in the work, but she chose to refuse. In order not to go out in the limelight, not to provoke right and wrong, and not to add chaos to Deng Xiaoping. She never wanted to participate in politics, but only did her best to do her part and do the work within her ability.
Later, Deng Xiaoping rose and fell several times, and during the Cultural Revolution, Deng Xiaoping was overthrown three times, and Zhuo Lin never abandoned it, and she silently accompanied and cared for Deng Xiaoping in this way.
