Directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt, the film The Spy League will be released in China on November 30, 2016. The film was previously hyped up for gossip when Pete was divorced. After watching it, I really found that the male and female protagonists were full of sparks, not only the bed scene was hot, the whole film was filled with incorrigible romantic feelings, even if Julie and Pete divorced not because of this, Julie may regret that she failed to star after watching it, because the film is the same as "Mr. and Mrs. Smith". To tell the truth, the heroine of this film, Julie is completely competent. Cotillard's only advantage over Julie is that she looks younger.

"League of Spies" tells a touching love story that took place during World War II, Brad Pitt's Allied agent Max came to Casablanca and cooperated with Marianne, a French spy played by Marion Godia, on an assassination mission, and the two fell in love in the chaotic world, thinking that they could return to London to start a peaceful life, but they did not expect that this was the beginning of all nightmares. Sounds a little familiar? It is fundamentally the same as "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", it is all about two spies who "can't hold on" to fall in love while on a mission, but from a fictional entertainment commercial film to a war romance with a bit of retro feelings, and this time it is a tragic ending, so it is best to bring your own tissues when watching.

The style of this film is indeed very retro fashion blockbuster feeling, the two lead actors are at the level of magazine covers from each angle, and the costume styling and shooting methods are easily reminiscent of Hollywood classics such as "Casablanca". But it is not correct to call "The League of Spies" the new version of "Casablanca", and after reading it, I found that in addition to some of the plot taking place in Casablanca, the two stories really did not have much to do with each other. However, the film mentions some interesting local cultural habits in Casablanca, such as men and their wives will go to the roof to see the night view after making love, I don't know what kind of ghost habits this is, but the meaning is that if any man rarely goes to the roof to see the night view, 80% of the marriage is not very sexually happy.

The release of "The League of Spies" did not start smoothly, the gossip of Pete's divorce made the film get attention early, but it also caused Pitt to be absent from all the pre-interview activities, he himself did not appear on the cover of any TV show or magazine, only took a photo at the premiere and left, which greatly affected the film's publicity, and the media and advertising coverage were "low-key" among similar films.

Another reason why the film was not afraid to make a big publicity was that its North American release date was during Thanksgiving. However, the plot of the male and female protagonists pretending to be husband and wife entering a party and suddenly starting to shoot with guns is very similar to the terrorist attack on San Blandino, California, a year ago after Thanksgiving. In that incident, a couple linked to IsIs, coming to a Christmas party, began shooting at the crowd, killing 14 people and seriously injuring 22, eventually killing both. Apparently, the two spies in this film have assassination targets, so although they also have strafing, the bullets hit the wall, and only the person they want to assassinate is killed. This is, of course, the difference between "spy" and "terrorist". However, this scene, and even the stills, are very reminiscent of the real tragedy that occurred a year ago, and also cast a shadow on the film. This is perhaps why, in the face of competition from other more hilarious holiday films of the same period, the film only grossed $18 million in the Thanksgiving period in North America, or the sum of the five-day weekend.

But when Brad Pitt shaves his beard, gets his hair straight, and puts on a suit or uniform to appear in a love movie, even without any publicity, it is still very appealing to most female audiences. Box office market research also found that more than 70% of the film was a female audience and more than 50% of the audience was over 50 years old, indicating that the film's old school style is more attractive to older people. It is worth mentioning that there are indeed many bed scenes in the film, one of which is when two people are drying wood in a car in a sandstorm, and the other is that Lippey also shows half of his buttocks. The previous one should be the only time that people can feel the "passion" in the sandstorm.

Although the two protagonists of the film are spies, this film is 100% a love film, and the two have no other action scenes except for a scene of shooting with a gun, and the spy is just like World War II, which becomes the background of the story. Therefore, if you like two actors and are eager to experience romance, this film will be very suitable for you, but if you want to watch spy games and spy action movies, you may be disappointed. This film does tell the helplessness and pain of being a spy during the war, unable to truly escape from this identity and do as you please. Will it become a classic like Casablanca? Visually it is absolutely qualified, but in the lines, there is a lack of content that can be impressive and lamentable. However, the end of the film still carries a tragic shock, which will make many viewers surprised and heartbroken at the same time.
