1. Basic introduction about the stone money turtle
Stone turtles belong to aquatic turtles, and there are more people in Liangguang, and their staple food is fresh shrimp and special feed. Every year from May to August for the egg laying period (August egg production slowly decreases), turtle eggs are white ellipsoidal, divided into fertilized eggs and non-fertilized eggs, the criterion is that the former has fertilization spots, the latter does not, each egg is about 11g, 4 cm +-long, 2 cm +-wide.
The activity period of the stone turtle (Guangxi belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate, the temperature is higher) is generally from the end of March to the beginning of October every year, the activity period is the time for the turtle to eat, roughly speaking, the temperature is high, the turtle eats more, but also the time when the body is faster. Eat less at other times, during the cold january-February period, basically do not eat, deep hibernation.
Sister Liu and I roughly mentioned that below 10 ° C, the stone turtle is in a deep hibernation period, do not eat or drink; 10-10 ° C into the hibernation period, stop eating; 15-25 ° C hibernation lifted, began to eat something, but the amount of food is unstable; 25-32 ° C eat more, long body blocks, above 35 ° C, not suitable for eating.
2, distinguish between male and female (literary point is to distinguish between male and female)
Sister Liu told me that the way to distinguish the stone money turtle is very simple, just distinguish it from four dimensions. First, look at the belly carapace of the stone turtle, the abdominal carapace of the male turtle is concave, and the abdominal carapace of the female turtle is flat; second, look at the tail, the tail of the male turtle is long and thick, and the female turtle is short; third, look at the back carapace, the male turtle is narrow and long, and the female turtle is wide and short; the fourth is to look at the p-eye of the stone turtle, the male is outside the edge of the dorsal shell, and the female is within the edge.
3, the sexual maturity time of the stone turtle is about 6 years.
4, stone money turtle lays eggs
Artificially bred stone turtles, when the turtle needs to lay eggs, will not lay eggs in the water, so it is necessary to manually build a place to lay eggs for them (soft soil), the time for the turtles to lay eggs is usually carried out at night, they will climb to the place where there is soil, and then use the hind limbs to dig holes, and then lay the eggs into the hole, and then use the hind limbs to push the soil back to landfill, and then use the abdominal armor to compact, and then run away, there is no habit of guarding the nest, usually there are 2-5 eggs in a nest. The next morning, Liu Jie would dig out the eggs, take the fertilized eggs to the incubation room to hatch the turtles, and the unstrited eggs were sold on the market or consumed by themselves.
5, the growth rate of the stone money turtle
The growth rate of stone money turtles is relatively slow, I have not done quantitative statistics, but from Liu Jie's oral account, I know that the turtles raised in 2013 have been raised in the weight range of most of them in 1.5 kg - 2.5 kg, and the 7 years of turtles are about so big, if it is replaced by a crocodile turtle, raising 7 years, ten pounds is normal.
Regarding the growth rate of the stone turtle and what factors are closely related, I will consult more detailed information in the future in order to get more scientific quantitative data to enhance my understanding of the stone turtle.
Now when the stone turtle hatches the seedlings, in the next month, a large number of seedlings will be pushed to the market...
