The word "Xuande" comes from Lao Tzu. Chapter X. What is Xuande? Let's see what the original text says:
"The beast that is born, born without being, for the sake of not being ashamed, and the long without slaughtering, is called Xuande."
That is to say, although a person has virtue, he does not think that he is virtuous, he does not want to be rewarded, no matter what others do, he does not care, how he should do it or how to do it, so it is called Xuande. The reason why Liu Bei is called Liu Xuande is because he also wants to be a person with this moral quality. Let's carefully analyze the meaning of this sentence in Lao Tzu:
"The Beast of Life". We know that the book "Lao Tzu" talks about the "Tao", that is, the law of the Heavenly Dao, and to be able to follow the law of the Heavenly Dao in dealing with people is to do nothing, that is, to have virtue. Heaven and earth are natural, giving birth to and nurturing all things, and nurturing all things, this is a natural phenomenon, and the law in this is the Tao, what law?
First, there is no birth
The way of nature, although it gives birth to all things, does not think that it is all, everything is natural.
For example, parents give birth to children and raise adults, children are born by you, you raise them, this is undeniable, but he is not yours, you are just a helper for him to be born as a person, you have no ownership of him.
Second, do not be ashamed
Although heaven and earth nature breeds all things and nurtures all things, although it has done a lot of things, it will not pretend to be self-righteous and will not show off itself.
For example, when parents give birth to children, children grow tall, fat, thin, black and white, beautiful and ugly, that is the child's own business, and there is actually nothing with the parents. If the child grows short and fat, and his parents pinch and pull him every day, will he become taller and thinner? There is no such thing as that. What a child looks like is all innate, it is his own business, this is the truth.
Third, long and not slaughtered
The way of nature is to let all things grow freely, to grow naturally, and not to artificially restrain it and dominate it.
Or take the child as an analogy, what material he is born with, is what material, not parents can control.
For example, some children like to learn, love books as fate, parents do not have to urge, he himself knows to work hard to learn, because he is very interested in learning. And some children do not like to learn, reading is sleepy, parents no longer hit and scold is useless, please any teacher is useless. Although he does not like to read, but he has other interests, or like music, or like sports, or like piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, etc., the so-called "natural I am born to be useful", as a parent, should be taught according to the aptitude, play the child's strengths, rather than compete in his shortcomings.
Therefore, parents can help their children and help him create a certain environment, but they cannot dominate him. Don't say it's the parents, even the heavens can't dominate, because the child's fate and future are in his own hands.
