This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Establishment of the Shanghai Masculine Folk Music Museum.

At the beginning of the year, Mr. Liu Dehai, a pipa master who has made outstanding contributions to the music hall and even traditional Chinese folk music, unfortunately passed away, in order to "return to the cradle of Jiangnan culture" before mr. Qi's death, after multi-party cooperation, his bronze statue was recently completed in Chongming "Shanghai Yanggang Folk Music Museum".

Shanghai Yanggang Folk Music Museum is located in the middle of Shanghai Chongming Island, with small bridges and flowing water in the courtyard, and the mountains and stones are interesting.

The mountain stone is engraved with liu Dehai's inscription for Jiangnan Yayun Network. The name of the "Shanghai Masculine Folk Music Museum" on the main entrance of the museum building is also the handwriting of Master Liu.

Outside the main gate is a piece of artificial Jiangnan landscape, the bronze statue sits on the left side of the landscape, jointly planned by shanghai yanggang folk music museum and Liu family compound, designed and produced by Shanghai Xiaowei Sculpture Art Co., Ltd., and supervised by Shanghai Chongming District Culture and Tourism Bureau.

The bronze statue depicts Mr. Liu Dehai in a seated position, holding a pipa in his hand, and a Jiangnan landscape in the background. It symbolizes that Mr. Jiangnan is with the landscape of Jiangnan, and his spirit and art will forever linger.

Liu Dehai's pipa edge

Born in Shanghai in 1937, Liu Dehai began to learn pipa, erhu, flute, three strings and other ethnic instruments at a young age. In 1954, he studied under the pipa player Lin Shicheng, and in 1957, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music.

On the basis of the Pudong school's playing skills, he learned and consulted Mr. Cao Anhe of the Chongming school, Mr. Sun Yude of the Shanghai Wang school, and Mr. Yang Dajun, a representative figure of the Pinghu school, and learned from the strengths of each family, greatly developed the pipa playing skills, and had a profound traditional musical accomplishment.

He has performed with conductor Seiji Ozawa and the Boston Symphony Orchestra in the United States, and is also the first Chinese musician to work with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

His playing is rigorous and perfect, skilled, and generous in timbre, and he excels at expressing a variety of styles of music. "Ten Faces Ambush", "Sunset Drum", "Autumn Moon of Han Palace", "Pingsha Falling Goose" and so on are all his traditional repertoire.

As a performer, Liu Dehai has traveled to five continents of the world and has made outstanding contributions to the dissemination and promotion of Chinese music. At the same time, he has also served as the vice president of the China Conservatory of Music, the head of the Department of Chinese Music, a professor, and a doctoral supervisor.

As a music educator, he has made outstanding contributions to the performance, teaching, creation, theoretical research and other fields of pipa, and is a famous pipa player, educator and composer in contemporary China.

Liu Dehai and Masculine Folk Music Museum

Shanghai Yanggang Folk Music Museum was founded in 2009 by entrepreneur Mr. Yang Gang.

For more than ten years, under the guidance and close participation of Liu Dehai and others, this music museum has carried out rescue, collection, protection, research, compilation and creation, inheritance and promotion and development work around Jiangnan silk bamboo and Yingzhou ancient tunes.

Since the Qing Dynasty, more than 8,000 pieces of musical scores, literary theories, records, manuscripts, musical instruments, etc. have been preserved, and a large number of intangible cultural heritage music activities have been organized.

In addition, the music hall also created the cultural brands of "Jiangnan Yayun" and "Yingzhou Silk Bamboo", and jointly initiated the establishment of "Shanghai. The Yangtze River Delta Jiangnan Silk Bamboo Music Association and the "Jiangnan Yayun" website were identified by the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism as the municipal protection responsibility unit of Jiangnan Silk Bamboo, a national-level intangible cultural heritage project.

Its institutions such as Jiangnan Silk Bamboo Theater, Jiangnan Silk Bamboo Orchestra, Jiangnan Silk Bamboo Historical Database and Database, Jiangnan Silk Bamboo and Pipa Art Museum also undertake the responsibility of protecting, inheriting, innovating and developing national and folk culture.

The bronze statue of pipa master Liu Dehai settled in the Yanggang Folk Music Museum is a major event in the construction of Chongming's world-class ecological island Chinese cause.

The scene of "under the emerald green of the sound, Le liu between the mountains and rivers" fully expresses the respect of the people of Chongming and all sectors of society for Mr. Liu. In Yingzhou's hometown, on the banks of the Yangshan River, people seem to have heard mr. Liu Dehai's "pearl falling jade plate" around the beam piano.
