The 20th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (hereinafter referred to as the "20th Shenzhen Cultural Expo") will be held in Shenzhen from May 23 to 27.

During the 2024 Cultural Expo, the OCT Creative Cultural Park will be used as a sub-venue of the Cultural Expo for the thirteenth time, with the theme of "Link with", bringing a series of diversified and open activities including "Made in Shenzhen - Local Youth Proposal", T Street Creative Market, and the 8th Tomorrow Music Festival. Open up a rich cultural and creative gravitational field for the public and industry, and encourage more creativity and exchange. At the same time, many arts, culture and creative institutions settled in the park will also present wonderful art and cultural activities during the fair, jointly demonstrating the unique and vigorous creative and humanistic ecology of OCT-LOFT.

Linking cultural creativity and shaping creative communities with young creators

For the cultural and creative design industry, young creators are an important force that cannot be ignored. This year, the branch venue of OCT Creative Culture Park continued the co-creation concept of the creative community, focused on the young creative crowd, and launched the "Made in Shenzhen - Local Youth Proposal", which was presented in three sections: sustainable installation regeneration, young creator salon and design workshop, inviting local young artists and designers to put forward new proposals and inject new vitality into the public space of the creative community with their unique perspectives and creativity.

What happens when sustainable building materials meet sustainable creative "heads"? Since the end of last year, the modular public space "Tree House", which has landed in the southern area of OCT-LOFT and has accommodated more than 20 pop-up activities, has given a full of vitality through a wonderful "transformation". Pache Design, a young architectural design team from Shenzhen, was invited to propose an innovative reinvention of the "Treehouse", and then restructured its sustainable materials in two days, finally presenting a new form of "Treehouse 2.0" - a regenerative pavilion space. In this regenerated public space, small youth art exhibitions can take place calmly, and it is expected to derive more application possibilities - the concept of "sustainability" is not only about using life itself, but also about building richer spaces and linking more diverse scene imaginations.

Linking inspiration to new aesthetics, T Street lights up more imagination for cultural and creative life

Regarded as a benchmark for cultural and creative markets in the Greater Bay Area, the T Street Creative Market is known as an open-air market under bright yellow tents, and has become an ideal "testing ground" for countless cultural and creative brand stall owners to communicate with the industry and consumers. Following the launch of the indoor special session during last year's Cultural Expo and the positive response from stall owners, the T Street Creative Market once again entered the indoor venue for a limited time this year, with the theme of "Home into the Inspiration Library", bringing together 77 original brands, and debuting at the C2 space in the North District of the OCT Creative Cultural Park from May 23 to 26.

As the first block-type creative market with the most intensive cycle and stable venue facilities in China, T Street Creative Market has always encouraged the spirit of originality, and strives to create a high-quality cultural and creative product consumption experience for the public while creating a platform for display, trading, communication and promotion for small and medium-sized cultural and creative brands and entrepreneurs. It is understood that the 77 original brands participating in the special session of the T Street Cultural Fair are mainly from Shenzhen and the surrounding areas of the Greater Bay Area, as well as a small number of high-quality brands from Shanghai, Chengdu and other places, covering life aesthetics, decorative paintings, music records, creative handicrafts, etc. In addition to the market itself, T Street also specially invited handmade artists to carry out workshops, and collaborated with original brands to create wooden house art installations, presenting the audience with a "inspiration corner" of the market that is easy to shop, fun and beautiful.

Link to experiment with new sounds, tomorrow the music festival "Noise" celebrates its 10th anniversary

Founded in 2014 and already an important pioneer in China, Tomorrow Music Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The 8th edition of Tomorrow Music Festival, which will open on May 24th, has thrilled music fans with its three-night performances featuring seven musicians/bands from seven countries, covering avant-garde, experimental, noise, folk, and more, as well as special lectures and screenings that take into account the sharing and exchange of local and international music cultures. Invite music fans at home and abroad to travel the music universe of "tomorrow".

Five-time Grammy Award-nominated composer, electronic musician and neoclassical recording artist Susan Siani will make her Chinese mainland debut at the Tomorrow Festival, performing in her beloved Buchla, a four-channel surround sound system, to bring the ultimate listening experience to live listeners. Named after the first astronaut ever to fly into space, the Swedish space rock band Yuri Gagarin decided to set the theme of this Asian premiere as "In Search of Ten Thousand Households" – a story inspired by China's Ming Dynasty and dreaming of a manned rocket to fly into the sky.

In addition, during the Expo, various cultural and artistic institutions in the OCT Creative Cultural Park also actively presented a wealth of art and cultural activities to the public, including the new D+ Art Museum, which opened in May, is exhibiting Ryuyusuke Okazaki's solo exhibition "The Agitation of Glory", a Japanese rising star designer and artist who has recently been collected by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States, in this solo exhibition in China at the D+ Art Museum, exhibiting his works from the Metropolitan Collection. It has also become one of the recent events of concern in the local arts and cultural circles.

Whether it is the T Street Creative Market, which shares and sells life inspiration, the pioneering Tomorrow Music Festival, or the reinvention of public spaces that connects local young creators, or the unique art exhibitions, the public can see the inclusiveness and uniqueness of different content in the open space of OCT-LOFT. When creativity is derived from the communication between creators and users, when music breaks the daily understanding of the avant-garde, and when the public space becomes a place of urban communication and integration, the link has a more valuable meaning - to promote the communication between people, encourage the connection between creative groups and creative communities, and put forward a more practical "OCT-LOFT proposal" for the high-quality development of cultural and creative industries and cities in the Bay Area.
