Preface
In April 2007, Linyi, Shandong Province held an event to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Menglianggu Campaign.
On the same day, Zhang Lingfu's wife Wang Yuling and son Zhang Daoyu appeared at the event. The purpose of the event is "Prosperity of the nation, pray for peace".
Wang Yuling and his son climbed the mountain first, and then sent 4 big characters to the relevant activities. Its content is consistent with the theme of the event.
Zhang Lingfu's wife, Wang Yuling
Wang Yuling was born in Changsha, Hunan Province in 1928. His father, Wang Shunan, died early due to illness in the prime of life, and Wang Yuling was only 5 years old that year.
His mother, Luo Xiyun, was born into a famous family and married into the Wang family at a young age. After her husband's death, Luo Xiyun and her daughter Wang Yuling still live in the Wang family.
Each other's Wang family is extremely wealthy, and the real estate alone has the saying of "Wang's street". The financial resources were very strong, and even the servants of the Wang family became local landlords in their later years.
Based on this, when Zhang Lingfu, who was already the deputy commander of the army, proposed to the Wang family, Luo Xiyun resolutely disagreed, because she knew that Zhang Lingfu had been married three times.
Zhang Lingfu was born in Shaanxi in 1903. At the age of 20, Zhang Lingfu was admitted to the Department of History of Peking University, during which he married Xing Fengying.
At that time, Zhang Lingfu was very poor and had to drop out of school because he could not pay the tuition fees. Later, after being mentioned by the nobles, Zhang Lingfu was admitted to the Whampoa Military Academy.
Since then, Zhang Lingfu's rapid ascension has begun.
When Zhang Lingfu was 30 years old, he was introduced by a friend and met Wu Hailan and got married. At that time, Zhang Lingfu was the commander of the First Division of the National Revolutionary Army, also known as the "First Division in the World".
It can be said that it is in the limelight.
A year after marriage, Zhang Lingfu and Wu Hailan gave birth to a daughter, named "Zhang Qingfang". After that, Zhang Lingfu suspected that Wu Hailan had cuckolded him, and shot Wu Hailan, who had been married to him for three years, in a fit of anger.
For this reason, Zhang Lingfu was almost severely punished by military discipline.
Zhang Lingfu's third wife is a slightly literate Shaanxi woman. After the two got married, they gave birth to a daughter.
Soon, Zhang Lingfu fell in love with Wang Yuling, a young woman with a strong financial background and a noble appearance. Although his mother Luo Xiyun did not agree to this marriage, she couldn't stand Zhang Lingfu's fancy pursuit of Wang Yuling.
In the end, Wang Yuling's heart was touched. Luo Xiyun had no choice but to put forward a condition: Cheng Qian, who was the chairman of the Hunan Provincial Government at the time, must officiate the marriage.
Zhang Lingfu agreed.
In this way, Wang Yuling, who was only 17 years old, and Zhang Lingfu, who was 42 years old at the time, held a grand wedding in a big hotel in Shanghai.
It is said that the wedding was a sensation.
During that time, Zhang Lingfu was full of good luck, not only hugged the beauty, but also served as the commander of the 74th Army known as Chiang Kai-shek's "Royal Forest Army" and the commander of the capital garrison soon after marriage.
In August 1946, Zhang Lingfu received an order to lead a team from Nanjing to the East China battlefield. During the war, Wang Yuling went to the front line to visit Zhang Lingfu, and soon after, Wang Yuling gave birth to a baby boy.
In 1947, Zhang Lingfu was surrounded by the East China Field Army in Menglianggu and was later shot. A few months later, Wang Yuling learned of her husband's death.
That year, Wang Yuling was only 19 years old. It is worth mentioning that Wang Yuling did not marry again in the future and has been living with her son.
At the end of 1948, Wang Yuling took her mother Luo Xiyun and her 2-year-old son Zhang Daoyu to Taiwan. The family is living on a pension.
In 1952, 25-year-old Wang Yuling obtained a passport to the United States. She temporarily left her mother and son in Taiwan and went to the United States alone to investigate.
At the same time, the real estate of the Wang family in China, the so-called "Wang Family Street", was confiscated by the state.
After the deed was destroyed, Wang Yuling's uncle, who had no financial resources, died of poverty in his later years.
After Wang Yuling arrived in the United States, she immediately began to implement her own plan. In June of the following year, Wang Yuling was admitted to New York University in the United States, majoring in accounting.
In order to make the most of her time, she worked as a secretary for a company in the mornings and attended lectures at the university in the afternoons and evenings. I went to work at a restaurant on my day off.
During those days, Wang Yuling could be described as physically and mentally exhausted, lonely and lonely. But she didn't give up on herself, but became more and more courageous.
After 4 years of fierce battles, Wang Yuling not only graduated from college with excellent grades, but was also admitted to American Airlines.
After that, Wang Yuling worked in the airline until his retirement.
After Wang Yuling had some income in the United States, she took her mother and son over. In order to let her daughter rest assured that she is working hard outside, Luo Xiyun did her best to help her daughter support the family.
The mother and daughter raised Zhang Daoyu together.
In her spare time, Wang Yuling is enthusiastic about public welfare, and she was elected as the president of the Chinese American Society. This group is mainly responsible for helping the disabled and poor Chinese.
As a result, Wang Yuling became famous in the Chinese-American circle.
With Wang Yuling as an example, his son is also very competitive, and after graduating from high school, he was admitted to Ohio State University in the United States, majoring in economics and management.
Wang Yuling received Premier Zhou's invitation to return to China
At the turn of the spring and summer of 1973, a Chinese reported the situation of Zhang Lingfu's widow Wang Yuling to Premier Zhou. Soon after, the relevant departments of the State Council extended an invitation to Wang Yuling, hoping that she would return to the mainland for sightseeing.
After Wang Yuling received the invitation, she felt mixed feelings in her heart. She wanted to go back to the mainland to see, but she was worried that her husband's affairs would affect her.
Just when Wang Yuling was hesitating, Canadian Ambassador Huang Hua wrote her a letter and extended an invitation to her again.
In September 1973, Luo Qingchang, deputy secretary general of the State Council, personally arranged for Wang Yuling to arrive in Macao first, and then to Beijing via Guangzhou, where he was secretly received by Premier Zhou and Sister Deng.
It is worth mentioning that Sister Deng also took a photo with Wang Yuling.
At that time, it was a special era, and there were only two Chinese Americans who could come to China, one was Yang Zhenning and the other was Wang Yuling.
After returning to China, Wang Yuling secretly visited several big cities, and was well protected and cared for along the way.
Since the beginning of reform and opening up, Wang Yuling has lost no time in returning to China to visit relatives many times, making every effort to promote nongovernmental exchanges and contacts between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, and encouraging his son, who is doing business in the United States and Taiwan, to return to the mainland to set up enterprises.
One day, Luo Xiyun said to her daughter: "No matter where you go, in the end, it will be the moonlight of your hometown." Wang Yuling understands her mother's heart.
So, in July 1997, Wang Yuling overcame many difficulties and returned to his hometown after a 49-year-old absence with his 96-year-old mother, fulfilling the old man's wish to return to his roots.
After returning to China, Wang Yuling accompanied her mother to visit relatives and friends. In 2002, Luo Xiyun died of illness in Changsha at the age of 101.

Wang Yuling's feelings for Zhang Lingfu have always been very deep. In 2003, she erected a mound for her husband in the Pudong Rose Garden in Shanghai.
It has a poem she wrote for her husband:
"I was fortunate to know my husband back then, and I will never forget my love. The smoke of gunpowder hurts forever, and the sad past is revisited timidly. ”
In 2007, Wang Yuling joined hands with his son to go to Meng Lianggu. During this period, a friend invited Wang Yuling to his home.
During this period, they chatted about Zhang Lingfu. Wang Yuling inadvertently told a secret story about her husband.
Some people say that Zhang Lingfu is a cripple general. Why? It turned out that Zhang Lingfu's knee was cracked, and the medical technology at that time was not good, and the doctor said that it had to be sawed off.
But Zhang Lingfu said, whoever saws off my leg, I will shoot whom! Later, after the injury was healed, Zhang Lingfu walked with only one leg and it was inconvenient to bend, but if he didn't pay attention to it, he couldn't see it much.
Speaking of that battle, a friend said that Zhang Lingfu encountered a stubble, the East China Field Army, the central government stipulated that Su Yu was in charge of the military, Su Yu was a victorious general, and he had high and strange moves in the war. Fighting the 74th Division was his idea.
Wang Yuling nodded her head after hearing this, and then she said: "My husband is a victorious general in the War of Resistance!" ”
My friend said: "The winning general meets the winning general, and there are strong players in the strong." Wang Yuling nodded again in admiration.
Finally, her friend asked her what she thought about the significance of the victory of the Liberation War that ushered in the birth of New China. Wang Yuling said: "The country must always be reunified, just like the American Civil War. ”
After saying goodbye to his friends, Wang Yuling sent the relevant activities to the four big characters "peaceful reunification". This is also Wang Yuling's long-standing wish.
