In order to carry forward the spirit of Nightingale, establish the image of dedicated nurses, stimulate the work enthusiasm and professional pride of nursing staff, build a learning and exchange platform, promote the appropriate technology of traditional Chinese medicine, and further promote the cultivation of traditional Chinese medicine talents and the construction of the team in Guangdong Province, on May 10, on the occasion of the 113th International Nurses Day, the Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of Southern Medical University held a traditional Chinese medicine nursing inheritance and innovation teacher inheritance ceremony and special training course on traditional therapy in the academic conference hall.

Build a learning and exchange platform to help the development of TCM nursing
More than 40 medical workers from various community service centers and support units in Haizhu District will carry out a two-day special training course on traditional therapy around the theory and practice of appropriate techniques for TCM nursing.

Director Guo Jiewu pointed out in his speech that Guangdong Province has always implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on traditional Chinese medicine, put the protection of people's health in a strategic position of priority development, and is committed to improving the ability of disease prevention and treatment and health management at the grassroots level. The development of this training course will further promote the cultivation of traditional Chinese medicine talents and the construction of the team in Guangdong Province, bring high-quality medical resources to the close assistance units and community service centers in Haizhu District, provide more high-quality and personalized traditional Chinese medicine nursing services for the majority of patients, and promote the comprehensive development of traditional Chinese medicine in Guangdong Province.

Deputy Director Zhou Ruijian has high expectations for the development of this training course. He pointed out that this training activity is not only an important attempt to the health cause of Haizhu District, but also a vivid embodiment of the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine nursing. Through mentoring, theoretical learning, workshops and other methods, community medical staff can be more proficient in mastering advanced TCM nursing concepts and technologies, improve the level of TCM nursing services, promote the development of TCM nursing in Haizhu District, and meet the growing health needs of community residents.
Hold an apprenticeship ceremony to commend advanced individuals
"Ancient scholars must have teachers, so teachers preach and teach to solve doubts." Apprenticeship is not only a heavy tradition in the traditional culture of the Chinese nation, but also a spiritual continuation and cultural inheritance. A unique apprenticeship ceremony was held at the event.

Seven disciples knelt down to their mentors, handed over the "apprenticeship post", presented six salutes, and presented tea ...... Teachers and students use the most traditional and solemn rituals to firmly inherit and develop the cultural consciousness and cultural self-confidence of the quintessence of traditional Chinese medicine.
On the eve of Nurses' Day, we carefully organized the "apprenticeship" ceremony of traditional Chinese medicine nursing inheritance and innovation, aiming to cultivate grassroots Chinese medicine nursing talents through the model of "mentoring and apprenticeship", and vigorously promote the appropriate technology of traditional Chinese medicine to serve the people with "simple and honest". The 7 TCM nurses who received the apprenticeship all have rich clinical experience, 5 of them are national TCM nursing backbone talents, and 2 are provincial TCM specialist nurses. The 7 disciples came from 3 community service centers (Chigang Street Community Health Service Center, Fengyang Street Community Health Service Center, Jianghai Street Community Health Service Center) and 4 close-knit support units (Heshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chaozhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Wuhua County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Gaozhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine) in Haizhu District.
"We must fulfill our duties, carefully impart clinical experience and technical expertise, and unreservedly teach our knowledge to students, hoping that they can inherit and promote the appropriate techniques of traditional Chinese medicine and continue to carry them forward," said Huang Bo, a national backbone of traditional Chinese medicine nursing and the head nurse of the gynecology department of the hospital.

At the meeting, a group of outstanding nursing workers and collectives were commended on the spot. Secretary Chen Xujian read out the "2023 Outstanding Nursing Worker Commendation Notice", extended holiday greetings to the nursing workers of the hospital, and extended warm congratulations to the commended advanced collectives and individuals. He fully affirmed the achievements of the hospital's nursing work, and hoped that all the nurses in the hospital would keep in mind the mission in the new journey of the hospital's development, show a new style with a full mental state, and make new contributions to the high-quality development of the hospital.
