In order to further improve the awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction among teachers and students of Dongxiang Nationalities Middle School and strengthen the emergency avoidance ability of teachers and students, on May 11, Dongxiang Nationalities Middle School organized all teachers and students to carry out earthquake prevention and disaster prevention emergency drills.
During the drill, the relevant person in charge of the school explained to the students the methods of emergency evacuation and escape routes when the earthquake came, so as to ensure that each student could learn basic self-protection and self-rescue methods. With the ringing of the alarm bell, the earthquake emergency evacuation drill officially kicked off, and the teachers and students of the school reacted quickly, dodging under the table as quickly as possible, holding their heads, curling up their bodies, lowering their body center of gravity, and protecting their heads with schoolbags and other items, the whole process was tense and orderly. As the second alarm bell sounded, the teachers performed their duties, led the students to bend over, protect their heads, and quickly and orderly evacuate to a safe area along the designated evacuation route, and then counted the class size, checked whether there were any students who were left behind, and reported the class situation to ensure that all teachers and students did not miss anything.
After the drill, the county fire brigade explained the use of fire extinguishers to the teachers and students of the county, and let the teachers and students personally operate the fire extinguishing, which won the applause of the teachers and students of the school.
The development of this activity enabled all teachers and students of Dongxiang Nationalities Middle School to clarify the procedures and objectives of the earthquake drill, master the scientific emergency avoidance methods after the earthquake, and be familiar with the escape and evacuation routes, which effectively improved the ability of teachers and students to evacuate and respond to emergencies.
