Cultivated land is the foundation of grain production and the fundamental guarantee of national food security. From April 24th to 28th, Shuijinggou Village, Yantan District, focused on how to revitalize and utilize idle pits and ponds, and set up a vanguard commando team of party members for pit pond recultivation and replanting.
At the site of recultivation, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau sent Yang Hongyu, the first secretary of Shuijinggou Village, to lead more than 20 members of the village-based work team, cadres of the village's "two committees" and representatives of party members at home to form a vanguard commando team of party members to work together to remove weeds. On the other side of the pond, mechanical ploughing is also in full swing. After 3 hours of joint efforts, an idle pit pond completed weed clearing and cultivated land, and the cultivated land took on a new look.
It is reported that up to now, Shuijinggou Village has completed 10 pit ponds, with an area of more than 60 acres, and the pit ponds have been planted with rice, bamboo shoots and other crops, showing a vibrant scene, making the "sleeping land" come alive.
The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau said that the bureau will strengthen the guidance and help for the cadres stationed in the village, encourage them to actively carry forward the spirit of good young people in the new era of "dare to take responsibility, be able to endure hardships, and be willing to struggle", and assist the village "two committees" to implement policies such as cultivated land protection subsidies and grain planting subsidies, so as to help stabilize grain production and increase income, and provide strong support for rural revitalization.
