On May 15, the Economic Investigation Brigade of Zhouning County Public Security Bureau went deep into Zhouning County Haiwu Tea Industry Development Co., Ltd. and Fujian Sanshan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. During the period, the police distributed brochures to relevant practitioners, focusing on common prominent economic crimes such as embezzlement, infringement and counterfeiting, illegal fundraising, online pyramid schemes, and contract fraud, vividly and intuitively showing typical cases of various economic crimes, patiently explaining the types and prevention methods of common economic crimes such as illegal fundraising, pyramid schemes, and money laundering, and providing legal consulting services for enterprises, focusing on protecting the healthy and high-quality development of private enterprises.
What is Economic Crime?
Economic crime refers to the act of seeking illegal benefits, violating national laws and regulations, seriously infringing on the state management system, and undermining the social and economic order in the field of commodity economy, and shall be punished by criminal punishment in accordance with the criminal law. In the case of economic crimes, there may be hundreds of criminal suspects in a single case, and there may be thousands of victims, and such cases are more complicated and tricky, and they are more related to the vital interests of the people.
Characteristics of economic crime
1. Greed. Most economic crimes have the purpose of illegally seeking economic benefits, and the criminals adopt improper means to embezzle the property of the state, collectives, and individual citizens for their own benefit, harming the interests of legitimate business operators, and at the same time undermining the normal operation and order of the market economy.
2. Complexity. Because economic crimes occur in the field of market economy operation, their criminal structure is very complex compared with other types of crimes. The field of operation of the market economy is an extremely large and dynamic field, in which the complex economic relations formed around the production, exchange, distribution and consumption of commodities are intertwined, including almost all industries and sectors of the national economy. 3. Intelligence. The perpetrators of economic crimes generally have a relatively high level of education, and many of them even have a wealth of specialized knowledge in the economic, fiscal and taxation, trade, accounting, or legal fields, and have long-term experience in engaging in economic activities.
Fourth, concealment. Economic crimes do not blatantly violate social morality and well-known rules of conduct like traditional crimes, and the perpetrators are often parties to economic relations, and the criminal means used are of the nature of economic activities, so their crimes are not easy to be known to the public, and their social harmfulness is not easy to be recognized by people.
