Tsai Hsiao-chien, a native of Taiwan, was born in a rural village in Changhua County and enrolled in a local public school at the age of six.
At that time, the Japanese invaders were engaged in cultural infiltration in Taiwan, so the Chinese language used by students, including Tsai Hsiao-gan, was Japanese.
After graduating from high school, Cai Xiaoqian was admitted to the Department of Sociology of Shanghai University with excellent grades for further study.
Under the leadership of Qu Qiubai and others, the Department of Sociology attaches great importance to the development of club activities, and shares advanced Marxist ideas in every activity.
In addition to participating in revolutionary activities, the Department of Sociology was also keen to participate in various activities against the Japanese colonialists, which also caused a little spiritual shock to Cai Xiaoqian.
Because he was indoctrinated with militaristic ideas by the Japanese invaders from the time he can remember, he became a slave to the other party's thoughts, and his evaluation of the Japanese was far from hatred.
However, in Shanghai, activities against the Japanese invaders can be seen almost everywhere, and even students have become an important part of it, which is very new to Cai Xiaoqian.
In 1928, Taiwanese people, including Lin Mushun and Xie Xuehong, established the first congress in the French Concession in Shanghai and formed the Taiwanese Communist Party, the so-called Taiwan Communist Party, which also included Peng Rong.
Later, some researchers believed that this Peng Rong was Qu Qiubai's pseudonym, and under Qu's guidance, Cai Xiaoqian also joined the Taiwan Communist Party and became an important member of it, mainly responsible for propaganda work.
After a period of development, the Taiwan Communist Party began to have its initial prototype and made some achievements, but it also attracted the attention of the relevant parties.
Soon after, Xie Xuehong was arrested by Japanese soldiers in the French Concession, and although he was released within two months, it had a considerable impact on the Taiwan Communist Party.
In order to avoid the capture of the Japanese army, the rest of the members, including Cai Xiaoqian, left by boat overnight and finally arrived in Zhangzhou, Fujian.
For a period of time after that, several people have been incognito, Cai Xiaoqian came to a local middle school to work, in order to obtain savings, he also went to the highway engineering office to work part-time, life is very difficult.
In 1932, the Red First Army came to the Zhangzhou area, and the members of the Taiwan Communist Party headed by Cai Xiaoqian finally ushered in a turning point of fate.
Later, Luo Ronghuan threw an olive branch to Cai Xiaoqian, welcoming the other party to work in the Red Army, at that time the Red Army was in great need of cultural talents, and intellectuals like Cai Xiaoqian were urgently needed.
Luo Ronghuan then introduced Cai Xiaoqian to a publication called "Red Warrior Daily", the original editor-in-chief was Luo Ronghuan, and since then the position of editor-in-chief has been handed over to Cai Xiaoqian.
In this way, under Luo Ronghuan's organization, Cai Xiaoqian became a member of the Political Department of the Red Army, and his name was changed to Cai Qian.
Later, when Cai Xiaoqian recalled that period in his memoirs, he said that the arrival of the Red Army was a fundamental change for him, in addition to daily life, it was more of an inner change, and since then, he has become a red soldier.
In 1932, Cai Xiaoqian and others moved to Changting, one of the places where the Soviets were developed, and Ren Bi, who served there, was Cai Xiaoqian's Russian teacher at Shanghai University.
Three days after Cai Xiaoqian's arrival in Changting, Premier Zhou came to visit and brought two Japanese books by the way, both of which were Marxist works.
One of the purposes of Premier Zhou's visit was to ask Cai Xiaoqian to translate these two books, but it was quite difficult for Cai Xiaoqian because he did not have a Japanese dictionary in his hands.
Premier Zhou said that this was not difficult, at that time, the Ruijin Ministry of Education was preparing to build a library, and there were a large number of books available for borrowing, and Cai Xiaoqian happily agreed.
Cai Xiaoqian is ready to do a big job, so what has he experienced during this time?

During this period of working in the Central Soviet Region, Cai Xiaoqian felt that he benefited a lot, not only increased his knowledge and knowledge, but also got to know a number of leaders of the Party Central Committee, including Chairman Mao, Liu Bocheng and others.
Two years later, the Red Army was forced to move, and the Long March began, and Cai Xiaoqian also participated in this arduous journey.
The most challenging stage of the Long March was crossing the grassland, a large number of Red Army soldiers died in the process, Cai Xiaoqian, as a scholar, also felt a great pressure, but fortunately he persevered tenaciously and finally completed the Long March.
It is worth mentioning that Tsai Hsiao-qian was the only cadre of the Taiwan Communist Party who had participated in the Red Army's Long March, and this was a huge political capital for him, and it also became a big topic of discussion in the future.
During the War of Liberation, the Nationalist army was quickly crushed under the attack of our party, and after the fall of Nanjing, Chiang Kai-shek led the remnants to retreat to Taiwan.
In April 1949, the plan for the liberation of Taiwan was officially put on the agenda, and the Taiwan Provincial Working Committee of the Communist Party of China submitted a proposal to the Party Central Committee, in which it stated that if force was to be used against Taiwan, April 1950 was the best.
Later, the Taiwan Provincial Work Committee said one after another that Taiwan's liberation was predestined and could not be changed under any circumstances, and that the task of the Taiwan organization was to cooperate with the PLA in conducting joint operations.
However, the situation did not develop in the desired direction, and at the end of 1950, Taiwan urgently established the Political Department of the Ministry of National Defense, the leadership of which was Chiang Ching-kuo.
One of the important purposes of the establishment of the Political Department of the Ministry of National Defense was to block the CCP organization, and since the day it was founded, several underground members of the Taiwan Communist Party have been killed one after another.
Just a few months earlier, someone had picked up a publication called "Guangming Bao", and Chen Cheng forwarded this publication to Chiang Kai-shek, causing the other party to be alerted.
In Chiang Kai-shek's view, this kind of Marxist publication could never exist in Taiwan, so it was imperative that his subordinates thoroughly investigate the matter.
At the behest of Chiang Kai-shek, the police quickly arrested the four students, and after some interrogation, they confessed that the Guangming Daily was founded by Zhong Haodong, secretary of the Keelung Working Committee.
Soon Zhong Haodong was arrested, he knew that he was in danger, and he was ready to be generous, but the national army did not kill him, but interrogated him day and night.
After a long period of high-intensity interrogation, Zhong Haodong was close to collapse and revealed the name Lao Zheng in a trance.
Gu Zhengwen, who was in charge of the interrogation, realized that Lao Zheng was an important person, so he urgently strengthened the control, and soon the underground party member Li Fen was arrested, in order to protect himself, Li Fen accepted the undercover mission, and returned to the original unit to continue to work as if nothing had happened.
After continuous efforts to find out the details of Lao Zheng, the national army finally found out the details of Lao Zheng, and finally arrested Lao Zheng in early 1950.
Only later did they find out that the so-called Lao Zheng was just a false name, and his real name was Cai Xiaoqian.
Cai Xiaoqian could never have imagined that he would one day fall into the hands of the national army, so he was very surprised by this fact, and at the same time he was ready to die.
Unlike others, Cai Xiaoqian has a deep foundation in the Communist Party, and has a past with many leaders, and his inner party spirit is extremely firm, so the sugar-coated cannonballs of the national army have not been able to pry his mouth open for a long time.
After some contact, Gu Zhengwen discovered Cai Xiaoqian's weakness, although the other party has unwavering faith, but at the same time is very keen on pleasure, only after less than a week, Cai Xiaoqian began to miss the taste of steak.
Immediately afterwards, Cai Xiaoqian designated to go to the most upscale restaurant in Taipei to buy steaks, and after this was completed, he would confess a stronghold of the party, but on the way to the walk, Cai Xiaoqian suddenly ran away and disappeared without a trace.
At that time, when Cai Xiaoqian was arrested, he also had a briefcase in his hand, and then the national army found the words "Vice Chief Wu" in the briefcase.
After calculation, it is not difficult to see that this so-called Vice Minister Wu is Wu Shi, a lieutenant general and staff officer of the Ministry of National Defense, but Wu Shi's identity is relatively prominent, and the national army did not act rashly for a while.
When the time was ripe, Wu Shi was quickly liquidated by the national army, and in this way, Cai Xiaoqian's carelessness made Wu Shi pay a heavy price.
At the same time, after some exploration, Gu Zhengwen finally discovered Cai Xiaoqian's traces, so he sent his spies to the countryside of Chiayi.
Since Cai Xiaoqian managed to escape, how did he become a traitor after that?
Defection to our party

When the spy was halfway through, he suddenly found a familiar figure, the other party was wearing a suit, looking extraordinary, and when he looked closely, that person was Cai Xiaoqian.
The reason for Cai Xiaoqian's arrest made people laugh, it turned out that he couldn't bear the poverty in the countryside, so he decided to go to the town to have a luxury and eat a Western meal to satisfy his hunger, but he happened to be bumped into by spies.
After being arrested for the second time, Cai Xiaoqian knew that he had lost the opportunity to turn the tables, and if he wanted to get preferential treatment, he had to confess all the information he knew as soon as possible.
In this way, Cai Xiaoqian rebelled at the speed of light and handed over all the underground party organizations, and he only put forward one condition for this, that is, to take his young and beautiful wife and sister to live with him in prison, and Gu Zhengwen readily agreed to this condition.
In the list confessed by Cai Xiaoqian, the name of Zhu Feng, the commissioner of the East China Bureau, is also included, I believe many people are curious about why Zhu Feng, as the commissioner of East China, appeared in Taiwan?
In October 1949, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) suffered a series of setbacks during its attack on the Zhoushan Islands, and one of the important reasons was the lack of intelligence, so the central government made up its mind to send people to Taiwan to collect intelligence first, including Zhu Feng.
Zhu Feng's personal ability is very strong, she can adapt to different task occasions, and she is extremely adaptable, in addition to her stepdaughter also lives in Taiwan, so it is relatively convenient to hide her whereabouts.
Zhu Feng met with Cai Xiaoqian the day after his arrival in Taiwan to discuss some related matters, and soon after, Zhu Feng met with Wu Shi again, and has kept in touch ever since.
In fact, before Zhu Feng came to Taiwan, Wu Shi had been collecting intelligence, including Taiwan's theater defense map and the firepower distribution in the Zhoushan Islands and the surrounding areas, which was extremely important information for our party.
Subsequently, Wu Shi handed over this top-secret information to Zhu Feng in the form of microfilm, and finally arrived in the hands of the General Staff Operations Department of the East China Bureau.
After the task was completed, the superior instructed Zhu Feng and ordered her to return to Hong Kong as soon as possible.
It turned out that after Cai Xiaoqian was arrested, he then confessed to Zhu Feng, and after learning this information, the national army hurriedly sent someone to arrest Zhu Feng, and finally captured him in Zhoushan.
In the face of the enemy's various sugar-coated shells, Zhu Feng always remained silent and never succumbed to the other party's obscenity, and even the enemy had to admire Zhu Feng's extremely good personal qualities.
In addition to Zhu Feng, more than 400 underground party members were arrested because of Cai Xiaoqian's designation, resulting in the annihilation of the Taiwan Provincial Working Committee and the almost total annihilation of its members.
Not only that, but the armed base painstakingly operated by the Taiwan Provincial Working Committee was also destroyed by the national army and eventually reduced to ruins.
And the initiator of all this is Cai Xiaoqian, and if it were not for his voluntary confession, the Taiwan Provincial Working Committee would certainly not have ended up in such a miserable situation.
As mentioned earlier, Cai Xiaoqian in the Yan'an period grew up like a sponge, but it was also during that time that Cai Xiaoqian also experienced the hardships of revolutionary life.
After arriving in Taiwan, he quickly became swayed by the extravagance of capitalism, and gradually began to indulge in various entertainment activities and hook up with local businessmen.
Cai Xiaoqian once had a wife, and soon after his wife died, Cai Xiaoqian quickly found a new love, and the other party was actually his 14-year-old cousin.
Since then, Cai Xiaoqian has been living with his cousin, and his daily life is extremely extravagant, and whenever the expenses are insufficient, he embezzles them from the organization's funds.
It is worth mentioning that in order to gain the support of some wealthy people, Cai Xiaoqian actually revealed his true identity, saying that he would take care of Taiwan after it was liberated.
Cai Xiaoqian's lack of sight and negligence eventually brought disaster to himself, not only becoming a prisoner of the national army, but also leading to the persecution of countless people of insight.
What makes people even more infuriating is that due to Cai Xiaoqian's defection, our party's plan to liberate Taiwan was completely disrupted, and because the Kuomintang had already made preparations for this, the plan finally had to be temporarily suspended.
As a sinner in history, Cai Xiaoqian almost single-handedly made the liberation of Taiwan come to naught, and he will forever be engraved on the pillar of shame in history!
