According to Thai media news, on April 13, the spokesperson of the Thai Prime Minister's Office Cha Vacharon revealed that from January 1 to April 9, 2024, a total of 10,168,745 foreign tourists have gone to Thailand, an increase of more than 146.21% over last year.
Among them, the top 5 tourists to Thailand are China, Malaysia, Russia, South Korea and India, and foreign tourists are expected to continue to grow. The National Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects no less than 100 billion baht in revenue during Songkran, while Radio Thai Airways expects a total of 16,307 flights from April 11-17, with an average of 2,330 flights per day.
The spokesperson added that the number of tourists exceeded 10 million, reflecting the concrete results of the government's visa-free policy, including measures to facilitate access to and from the airport. Prime Minister and Finance Minister Saita has ordered the integration of all parties to support Thailand as a tourism hub and an important tourist destination for tourists from around the world.
