All-solid-state power batteries have achieved key technological breakthroughs

Up to now, GAC Group has preliminarily opened up the whole process manufacturing process of all-solid-state batteries, and has made a key technological breakthrough in the mass production of automotive-grade high-safety and large-capacity all-solid-state power batteries, with three core advantages of ultra-high energy density, ultra-high safety and large-capacity all-solid-state batteries, which are expected to be installed in Haobo models in 2026.

It is understood that GAC's all-solid-state power battery adopts high-capacity solid-state cathode technology and third-generation sponge silicon anode technology (new nano-silicon composite anode), and the all-solid-state cathode can reach a high surface capacity of more than 5mAh/cm2, thereby achieving an energy density of more than 400Wh/kg. Compared with the most advanced liquid lithium-ion battery, its volume energy density and mass energy density are increased by more than 50%, so that the vehicle mileage can exceed 1000km.

In terms of safety, GAC's all-solid-state power battery adopts a high-strength and dense composite electrolyte film, so that the battery will not explode in the 200°C hot box test. In terms of battery cells, the manufacture of large-size multi-layer stacked all-solid-state cells with a capacity of up to 30Ah has been realized.

GAC Group has also shown strong strength in the field of intelligent driving. Compared with the current mainstream technology route, it not only does not need high-precision maps, but also does not rely on lidar, but combines visual sensors and AI algorithms to achieve intelligent driving with a wider coverage with a more concise hardware system.

This pictureless pure visual intelligent driving system has three leading capabilities in visual recognition. First of all, whether it is a ramp, tunnel, curve or intersection, fork in the road and other complex scenes, this system can accurately identify and understand the structure of the road; secondly, this system realizes the accurate identification of various signal light elements through deep neural network, including signal light type, various symbols and colors, countdown and flashing state, etc.; third, the system perception range reaches 150+ meters in front of the car, 100 meters behind the car, left and right 50 meters, and the perception category is in addition to vehicles, pedestrians, riders, Common traffic factors such as small animals also include irregular obstacles such as trolleys and camp tents.

The system is equally good in terms of decision-making and action. Through real-time tracking, intent recognition and trajectory prediction of dynamic traffic objects, as well as a command brain that is data-driven and coordinated with expert rules, the system can accurately predict the behavior of other traffic participants and make reasonable, safe and efficient driving decisions with the help of GAC's first fluid-based space-time joint planning technology. In addition, in the parking scene, the minimum error of this system can be controlled to 5cm, which can realize the industry's most difficult three-dimensional parking space and narrow parking space.

In the field of autonomous driving technology, GAC has laid out two major technical routes: the mainstream "multi-sensor fusion technology" and the forward-looking "imageless pure vision technology". According to the company, GAC's two routes will get rid of the dependence on high-precision maps and achieve "navigation can be opened".

In 2023, GAC Group will invest nearly 8.4 billion yuan in independent research and development, and apply for nearly 3,200 new patents, of which invention patents account for about 50%.
