According to the report, Honor took the first place with a market share of 17.1%, Huawei ranked second with 17.0%, and OPPO, Apple, and vivo ranked third to fifth, respectively.
Soon after, Canalys released a report, but with a different data than IDC.
According to the report given by Canalys, in the first quarter of 2024, Huawei will regain the first place in the smartphone market in Chinese mainland with a share of 17%.

As for why the results given by the two institutions are not the same, it is likely that there is a slight difference in statistical caliber.
Because it can be seen from the report that the difference between the share of the first and fifth places is very small, no more than 2% overall, and no one can take the lead.
This also shows that the competition in the domestic mobile phone market is very fierce, and subtle data differences can lead to ranking changes.
But then again, data from IDC and Canalys both show that among the five mobile phone manufacturers, only Huawei has a disjointed growth rate.

As a transitional version to switch to pure-blooded HarmonyOS, the HarmonyOS 4.2 version has recently started full public beta, covering 22 devices in the first batch.
It includes 11 models, including the Huawei Mate 60 series, Pocket 2, Mate X5, MatePad Pro series, and more.
