The county animal husbandry development center formulates a detailed spring epidemic prevention plan, organizes a professional epidemic prevention team, goes deep into the towns and towns to carry out comprehensive inspection and epidemic prevention of all kinds of livestock and poultry, and operates in strict accordance with relevant regulations and standards to improve the immunity of the sheep herd; comprehensively disinfects the farms to reduce the spread of pathogens; the epidemic prevention department strengthens communication and exchanges with farmers, conducts epidemic prevention knowledge training for breeding personnel, and improves their awareness and ability of epidemic prevention; strengthens the monitoring and early warning of animal diseases to ensure that the epidemic is detected and controlled at the first time。

In order to ensure the healthy and sustainable development of animal husbandry in the county, at the beginning of September every year, the county animal husbandry development center organizes professionals to carry out immunization against major animal diseases in autumn based on foot-and-mouth disease in cattle and sheep, peste des petits ruminants in sheep and highly pathogenic avian influenza in poultry.
On the premise of doing a good job in self-protection, professional epidemic prevention personnel implement a combination of centralized immunization and daily vaccination, provide door-to-door epidemic prevention services for farms (households) in the jurisdiction, and further build a "safety net" for animal husbandry epidemic prevention. It was learned from the county animal disease prevention and control center that the autumn animal immunization work was fully completed at the end of October each year.
"We have more than a dozen sheep at home, and with the care and support of the party and the government, every spring and autumn, the epidemic prevention staff will give free vaccinations to the sheep, which provides a safety guarantee for our breeding and makes us more confident in breeding. It is understood that Dongxiang County mainly implements the animal epidemic prevention work in spring and autumn from three aspects. First, through training, recruitment, selection, and re-employment, we have established and improved the three-level epidemic prevention system in counties and villages, and strengthened the personnel and functions of the county animal husbandry development center and the county animal disease prevention and control center; according to the establishment of five epidemic prevention personnel in each township, the work force of 22 township animal husbandry and veterinary stations has been fully equipped and strengthened; and at the village level, 206 village-level epidemic prevention personnel have been selected and hired from among the "soil experts" who understand technology, know how to manage, and have experience, such as large farmers and heads of cooperatives. Second, the implementation of the epidemic prevention system and emergency reserve facilities construction project, the county-level animal laboratory, the township animal husbandry and veterinary station and the village epidemic prevention veterinary room have been equipped with laboratory refrigeration and other equipment, and the service function has been improved.
