Located at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei and Mongolia provinces (regions), Sumushan Nature Reserve is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and the largest forest plantation in North China. The reserve is about 27 kilometers long from east to west and 19 kilometers wide from north to south, covering an area of 270,000 mu, with a forest area of 205,000 mu and a forest coverage rate of 74.8%. The average altitude is 1682.32 meters, and the highest peak, Huangshi Cliff, is 2334.7 meters above sea level, which is the highest point in Ulanqab City. There are 526 species of wild herbaceous plants, 118 species of birds, 25 species of mammals, and more than 120 kinds of Chinese medicinal materials such as natural astragalus, bupleurum, baibu and fritillary.
