On October 19, the reporter came to the east side of the Xi'an Grand Theater, located in the Central Innovation Zone of the Silk Road Science City, to accelerate the early autumn colors of the Future Pupil Science Park under construction.
The reporter learned that the Future Pupil Science Park is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of the year, which will better release the ecological and scientific and technological innovation charm of the Central Innovation Zone, further enhance the quality and energy level of the Silk Road Science City, and show the new atmosphere of the construction of the "double center" core area.

Form a reclaimed water and rainwater ecological conservation cycle system
Located at the intersection of the crosses of the main axis of the Central Innovation Zone, with a land area of 136,000 square meters, the Future Pupil Science Park is linked with the Xi'an Innovation Hall and the Xi'an Grand Theater inside and outside, echoing the series of headquarters buildings of the Grand Theater, forming a spatial pattern of "the city and the mountains reflect each other, and the mountains and rivers reflect each other".
It is worth mentioning that the Future Pupil Science Park adopts the design concept of reclaimed water and sponge city, realizes the effective collection and utilization of reclaimed water ecological utilization and rainwater, and organically integrates scientific science and ecological background, and closely links with Xi'an Innovation Hall and Xi'an Grand Theater to form a new connotation of science and technology and culture that echoes inside and outside, especially with the Yong'an Canal water system as a link, connecting waterfront life, business + cultural tourism, science and technology + literature and art, creating a public space integrating science and technology, culture and ecology.
"In terms of reclaimed water utilization, we follow the concept of sponge city construction and build in accordance with the principle of 'reclaimed water utilization and rainwater collection and supplementation'." Guan Jiang, the designer of the Future Pupil Science Park, said that the reclaimed water in the park mainly comes from the No. 7 Sewage Treatment Plant in Xi'an, and the East Bank Sewage Treatment Plant of the International Community is used as a backup water source.

According to the "Implementation Plan for the Construction of Sponge City in Xi'an" and the regulatory detailed planning of the area, the Future Pupil Science Park, as a water storage body, uses the characteristics of the site to maximize the rainwater runoff from the surrounding sites.
"We comprehensively adopt measures such as 'infiltration, detention, storage, purification, use, and drainage', and set up rain gardens, non-grass permeable pavement, sunken green spaces, grass planting ditches, and underground water storage tanks, and completely collect the surrounding rainwater into the entire water body by creating a 'high around and low in the middle' layered water-falling terrain, so as to supplement the water body and realize the function of a sponge city." Guan Jiang said.

"In the water body, we plant evergreen submerged plants in all seasons, such as dwarf bitter grass, large bitter grass, and micro-toothed eye grass, which not only play the ecological purification function of plants, but also form an underwater lawn with beautiful landscapes." Guan Jiang said that on the shore, the park plans to plant all kinds of water-lifting plants, which not only beautify the environment, but also help build a natural ecological revetment, and intercept the rainwater entering the water body for a second time, effectively realizing ecological purification.

Wang Bo, one of the leaders of the science popularization installation project of the Future Pupil Science Park, said that the "eaves of listening to the rain" are equipped with an artificial rain sprinkler system, and citizens and tourists can step into it and listen to the sound of "rain".
The three popular science themes include a series of popular science installations such as "Water Purifier", "Symbiotic Elf" and "Courtesy of Trees", with the theme of "Ecological Ring", enriching the tour experience of the entire park.
