On October 18, Hulunbuir Hailar Ecological Environment Monitoring Center, together with Xinqiao Primary School in Hailar District and Hulunbuir Volunteer Association, jointly carried out environmental protection facilities open to the public and ecological environment education activities. More than 60 volunteers, students and staff of the center walked into the laboratory together to start a "zero-distance" contact with ecological environment monitoring instruments and immerse themselves in the journey of ecological environment monitoring.
At the event site, the staff led the children to visit the experimental analysis room of the environmental monitoring center, environmental monitoring equipment and other open areas, and introduced in detail the development process of the monitoring center, the monitoring business process and the functions of the monitoring equipment, so that everyone can have an in-depth understanding of the scope of ecological environment monitoring, the methods of water quality monitoring and the important role of environmental monitoring in ecological environmental protection.
In the demonstration of instrument and equipment operation, the operators of the on-site room showed the five-parameter portable instrument of water quality, ambient air monitoring, pollution source exhaust gas monitoring, noise monitoring and other equipment. The laboratory operators led the students to visit the physical and chemical laboratory, explained the principle of redox titration and actually operated the permanganate index titration process. In the ion chromatography laboratory, the main items of ion chromatography and their working principles are introduced; In the microbiology laboratory, the culture process of the total number of bacteria was explained, and the visitors were led to observe the morphology of bacteria under the microscope. In the balance room, the basic environmental requirements of the balance for temperature and humidity, light, shock and dust resistance, as well as the application range of the two electronic balances in environmental monitoring, were explained. Through this demonstration, everyone more intuitively felt the full application of technology and knowledge in the field of ecological environment monitoring and its important power.
The children were enthusiastic, learning while watching, learning and memorizing, and found the answers to their questions during the visit. They are also actively involved in the practical operation of small experiments such as noise level meter, conductivity, turbidity meter, dissolved oxygen, pH test strip to test pH, etc. "This pH test paper has turned purple red, this is alkaline water quality", "This soda is weakly alkaline, and the color of the pH test paper is yellow-green", "My voice has reached 70 decibels", the children rushed to participate in the small experiment, felt the fun of environmental monitoring in the experimental operation, and learned the knowledge of ecological environmental protection. At the end of the activity, when the students received the environmental protection bags presented by the monitoring center, they said that the protection of the ecological environment should start from themselves, start from small things, and start from now, and actively participate in ecological environmental protection.
