In BYD Dynasty, the Yuan series is different from other series, all of which are pure electric models and have no hybrids.
Among them, the Yuan Pro, which is positioned as a small SUV, is a car with a relatively old platform architecture, and its sales performance is not outstanding, and it has not even launched the Honor version model this year, which seems to have been strategically abandoned.
Of course, BYD will not give up on the small SUV market, so this time the Yuan UP is actually the successor to the Yuan Pro, which has been greatly improved in terms of platform, power, range, space, etc.
In terms of platform, the Yuan UP is fully on par with the higher-level Yuan PLUS, adopting the e3.0 pure electric platform, with an eight-in-one electric powertrain, a wide temperature range heat pump system, and CTB battery-body integration technology.
However, in terms of chassis configuration, the Yuan UP does not use independent suspension at the front and rear like the Yuan PLUS, but the front suspension is independent and the rear suspension is non-independent, which is a little regrettable.
Secondly, from the perspective of space size, although it is also a small SUV, the wheelbase of the Yuan UP is much larger than that of the Yuan Pro, and if the "small school bag" of the Yuan Pro is removed, the length of the Yuan UP will also be more advantageous. At the same time, because of the application of the CTB integrated body, the longitudinal space performance of the meta UP will also be better.
Overall, the position of Yuan PLUS is still solid, facing small urban families, while Yuan UP is grabbing the A0 level market, and BYD believes that the target group is the young group.
