Israel and Hamas agreed to a one-month truce.
On January 23, Reuters, citing three people familiar with the matter, reported that Israel and Hamas had agreed that the two sides would have a one-month truce and exchange prisoners and hostages under a ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire talks, which were reportedly led by the United States, Qatar and Egypt, began on December 28, 2023. However, Hamas has refused to move forward with negotiations until the terms of a permanent ceasefire are reached.
