According to a report by Taiwan's "China Times News Network" on January 21, Tsai Zhengyuan, a well-known and former "legislator" on the island, posted an article on Facebook with the title "What did the Kuomintang lose?" pointing out that the outside world believes that "the Kuomintang lost the regional leadership election, but won the 'legislator' election" is a draw, and he bluntly said that this arithmetic is problematic.
In the 2024 election on the island, although the Kuomintang lost the regional leadership election, it won 52 seats as a "legislator" and returned to the largest party in the "legislature".
However, Cai Zhengyuan disagreed with the statement that "the Kuomintang lost one and won and drawn". 2024 is the most vulnerable moment for the DPP, and in another 4 years, it may be strong, because he has more than 6,000 positions in his hands and can train a new generation of cadres, and it will be more difficult for the KMT to challenge, and there will still be blue-white competition problems.
However, if the KMT loses these 6,000 positions, Cai Zhengyuan believes that not only will an entire generation wither away, but the younger generation will not have many opportunities to join the KMT, and the Blue Camp will be even weaker before it knows it, and finally only a few elected public officials will remain.
In addition, in response to some people's claims that Lai can only be elected for one term, and that Ke Wenzhe and the Taiwan People's Party will "bubble", Tsai Zhengyuan bluntly said, "It's really Ah Q at home," and advised these people to keep their eyes open and see the real landscape outside.
Obviously, after this election campaign, the crisis facing the KMT has not been resolved, but has become more serious.
The Taiwan People's Party will continue to recruit troops in the future, and if the Kuomintang splits, the local forces in Lanying may lean on Ke Wenzhe, which is an opportunity for Ke Wenzhe to grow.
Although three people in the Kuomintang, former spokesman Xiao Jingyan, assistant to the Democratic People's Congress, Tian Fanglun, and Zhang Yazhong, the general principal of the Sun Wen School, have "forced the palace" to demand the resignation of Kuomintang Chairman Zhu Lilun, everyone else has chosen to remain silent or support Zhu.
Zhu Lilun has also said that he will fight until the end of his term as chairman of the Kuomintang, and unless someone in the party wants to continue to launch a "palace press", no one will pull Zhu Lilun out of power.
Therefore, there is no problem with the expiration of Zhu Lilun's term of office, but whether Zhu Lilun can continue to run for re-election after that? Judging from the current situation, I am afraid that he will no longer be widely supported.
In the future, it is the right choice for the KMT to unite and strengthen the party, become a powerful opposition party, and supervise the ruling party.
With regard to the KMT's quasi-"legislator" Han Kuo-yu's statement that he would partner with Jiang Qichen to win over the principal and deputy responsible persons of the "legislature," Guo Zhengliang, another well-known figure on the island and a former "legislator," said that if Han Kuo-yu becomes the responsible person, he must establish his authority and let Chen Chien-jen, the responsible person of the "administrative organ," and the ministries and committees answer obediently; if they dare to be arrogant, the responsible persons of the "legislature" of the opposition parties can immediately stop holding meetings, and there is no need to hold any subsequent meetings, and there is no need to send the budgets of various ministries and committees, and all bills and budgets will be put on strike.
As for the Taiwan People's Party, Guo Zhengliang stressed that it is necessary to establish the prestige of "small party unity," and if the eight "legislators" cannot "enter and exit," they will be ruined.
Therefore, Ke Wenzhe, chairman of the People's Party, wants to establish authority, and the party discipline must be unprecedentedly strict, and he directly ordered at the party caucus meeting that "whoever dares to run the vote will be expelled and replaced immediately", so that he can truly establish his authority. If Ke Wenzhe doesn't even dare to do this, then forget it, don't choose.
The election of the responsible person of the "legislature" on 1 February will attract much attention, with the KMT contested by Han Kuo-yu's partner Jiang Qichen, and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) re-elected by You Xikun and Tsai Chi-chang, the current chairmen and deputy heads of the "legislature."
