The cause of the incident was that on April 23, a netizen posted a post to break the news, saying that a well-known 211 normal college Liberal Arts College put forward a special requirement for students' graduation theses: after passing the defense, students need to copy the entire graduation thesis by hand, and the regulations for copying are quite cumbersome. Xiao Ling, a student at South China Normal University's School of Liberal Arts, said that she and her classmates found it difficult to understand the school's request for a hand-copied graduation thesis, and thought that such a rule was unreasonable.
She believes that this "transcription requirement" of the School of Liberal Arts of South China Normal University can be described as quite strict. Students are required to print their own paper in a specific format prescribed by the college, with 400 words per page, and at least 30 sheets of paper are required to copy the entire thesis. Moreover, there are also requirements for the pen used for copying, and the pen and ink should not be too thick. Such regulations make them feel a lot of pressure.
Someone also worked hard to calculate: 30 words per minute, 10,000 words take 6 hours. The text of 30,000 words takes 18 hours. It's only 48 hours on the weekend, and you can't do anything else you love to do for 18 hours!
But what I want to say is, this is the Faculty of Letters, you are students studying Chinese, can you only write 30 words neatly in a minute? Such a rookie? Is it really nothing! Even copying is crooked, which is enough to prove that you have never taken the initiative to write on weekdays.
Xiaoling also thinks that every year the students of the Faculty of Arts suffer from this. They repeatedly reported their opinions to the academic affairs department and the college, but the response was always "traditional" and "distinctive", and some students were even threatened with credits and graduation to obey this regulation.
But in fact, the school does not require that it must be copied by hand within two days. I copied it for two hours a day, and I finished it in a few days. And many school students have nothing to arrange after their graduation defense, just wait for the school to issue a graduation certificate, can you spend some time on this? To be honest, students are lazy, and now electronic products are too popular, and university teachers rarely write board books, all of which are PPT. Besides, if you are a normal student, you will be a teacher in the future, and you will have to write a lot of books, can you do it if you can't write well?
