On May 2, 2024, the China-Africa Trade Commission led a business delegation to the United Republic of Tanzania to gain an in-depth understanding of and explore business investment opportunities. The visit was led by Pi Zhiyuan, Executive Director of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Working Committee, with the aim of further promoting the development of China-Tanzania economic and trade relations. The first leg of the delegation was Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where it visited the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC). The Tanzania Investment Centre (Tanzania) is the primary agency of the Government of Tanzania responsible for coordinating, encouraging, promoting and facilitating investment. The Tanzania Investment Center said that in terms of infrastructure construction, it hopes to learn from China's successful experience to accelerate the process of infrastructure construction and improve Tanzania's transportation capacity. In terms of energy development, Tanzania has abundant hydropower, wind power, solar energy and other resources, but the current degree of development is insufficient. Therefore, the Tanzania Investment Center hopes to strengthen medical cooperation with China, introduce advanced medical technology and equipment, and improve the quality of medical facilities and services. Executive Director Pi Zhiyuan expressed his willingness to actively participate in Tanzania's medical cooperation, contribute to the development of Tanzania's medical industry, and improve the level of medical security for local residents. This kind of medical cooperation will inject new vitality into Tanzania's health cause and add new connotations to the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
