Wake up
One eye turned out to be "blind"!
Do you think that's the case with older people?
Recently, a post-95 generation
Blindness in his right eye overnight
Diagnosed with "eye stroke"
Because there was no immediate medical treatment
The best time for treatment was missed
This is a terrible-sounding disease
What exactly?

01
What is a "stroke in the eye"?
Central retinal artery occlusion, also known as "eye stroke", is when the central retinal artery is partially or completely blocked.
The retina is like a film negative for a camera, which converts the light that shines into the eye into electrical signals that are transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve so that we can "see" the things around us.
The retina is extremely sensitive to local hypoxia, and fresh arterial blood cannot enter and nourish the retina, resulting in a painless, sudden loss or loss of vision.
This vision loss does not resolve even after a short rest.

02
Risk factors for "eye stroke".
·
Middle-aged and elderly people over 55 years old
Central retinal artery occlusion is more common in older people. Its occurrence is closely related to systemic diseases such as hypertension, carotid artery occlusion, diabetes, heart valve disease, etc.
The elderly have decreased elasticity of blood vessels, hardening of the pipe wall, and various underlying diseases, and are prone to "eye stroke".
·
People of the "three highs".
Hypertension is the most common risk factor, with hypertension associated with approximately 67% of patients with central retinal artery occlusion.
High blood pressure can lead to damage to the endothelium of blood vessels, and the plaque formed will rupture and fall off in the blood vessels, which may block the retinal blood vessels and cause "eye stroke".
People with hyperlipidemia have high blood viscosity, and lipid deposits in blood vessels can cause the formation of blood clots.
·
People who smoke
Smoking can cause vasoconstriction and spasm, and long-term heavy smoking may cause blood vessel embolism, which can cause "eye stroke".
·
People who have been overusing their eyes for a long time
People who need to work on computers for a long time and have irregular lifestyles are prone to eye diseases due to long-term tension and high pressure in their eyes.
For those who like to stay up late and play with their mobile phones, let's take it easy......

What should I do if I have a stroke in the eye?
"Eye stroke" has an aura of amaurosis: some patients have had a transient amaurosis (i.e., temporary loss of vision, usually about 1 to 2 minutes), which resolves after a few minutes.
Or a sudden loss of vision in one eye, where vision disappears immediately or completely, and only the number of fingers or light perception can be seen.
When the above symptoms of "eye stroke" appear, even if the symptoms of blurred vision are temporarily relieved, do not hesitate to go to the hospital immediately.
As an ophthalmic emergency, irreversible damage to the retinal photoreceptor tissue usually occurs after more than 90 minutes of retinal ischemia and hypoxia.
Therefore, 90 minutes is the golden treatment time for central retinal artery occlusion, and the platinum treatment time is 6 hours, preferably no more than 24 hours!
