Wangmo County was once one of the last nine counties in Guizhou Province to be lifted out of poverty, with high mountains and steep slopes and deep valleys, relatively few available land resources, and a weak industrial base. In recent years, the annual output of local organized labor services has always remained above 10,000, driving the number of migrant workers in the county to exceed 80,000.
