Project Description:

Through the evaluation of the characteristics of pumpkin and carrot pectin and the study of extraction technology, this project determined that pumpkin and carrot can be used as industrial pectin raw materials, and its pectin is high-ester pectin, and the product meets the requirements of the pectin line standard QB2484, which is suitable for use as a food additive such as gelling agent, thickener and stabilizer, and can also be used as a functional product. The efficient extraction technology of pectin developed in this project can reduce the production energy consumption by more than 1/3, and the mathematical model of pectin ultrasonic auxiliary extraction technology established is conducive to the automatic production control of pectin. The project investment is not less than 20 million yuan, with an annual output of 300 tons.

Innovation:

1) The ultrasonic auxiliary extraction technology is used for pectin production, which reduces the energy consumption by more than 1/3 compared with the traditional acid extraction technology.

2) The mathematical model of pectin ultrasonic auxiliary extraction technology established is conducive to the realization of automated production control of pectin.

Industry (Market) Applications:

This project improves the efficiency of pectin extraction, reduces the energy consumption of pectin extraction and quality control problems during pectin extraction.

Under the general trend of low-sugar and low-calorie food becoming the direction of food consumption, the market demand for international pectin still has a gap of 10,000 tons, which is rising at a rate of 5% to 10% per year, and the demand for pectin in China is expected to exceed 5,000 tons. At present, the market price of pectin is about 100 yuan per kilogram, such as extracting pectin from carrot processing waste as a food additive, which can add about 1,000 yuan per ton. Carrying out comprehensive utilization work such as extracting pectin from pumpkin and carrot processing waste has certain economic benefits.

Recently, the "Zhongtian No. 2 Alfalfa" independently cultivated by the anti-stress forage breeding and utilization team of the Lanzhou Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences passed the examination and approval of the National Grass Variety Approval Committee, becoming the third new variety of the "Zhongtian" series of Lanzhou Animal Husbandry and Medicine Institute. Sheep grass seed harvest new equipment was successfully developed

The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences proposed the optimal nitrogen application rate for drip irrigation winter wheat in the North China Plain

Recently, the principle of insufficient irrigation and the new technology team of the Institute of Farmland Irrigation of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences used the crop growth model DSSAT to propose the optimal nitrogen application rate of drip irrigation winter wheat in the North China Plain, and through comprehensive analysis, the nitrogen application rate of the drip irrigation winter wheat in the North China Plain was 180 kg/ha. Compared with the field experiment, the study fully considers different meteorological scenarios, which can provide a more scientific theoretical basis for the nitrogen management of drip irrigation winter wheat, and also provide a new research method for the optimal management of nitrogen fertilizer.

A study by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences revealed the suitable irrigation depth of winter wheat under the cultivation mode of high and low furrows

High and low furrow cultivation is a new cultivation mode with good potential for water saving and yield increase. This mode is used to irrigate water in low furrows, and wheat on high furrows meets water consumption requirements by absorbing side seepage water. The study analyzed the stable isotope values of hydrogen and oxygen from different water sources such as soil water and precipitation, and determined the root water absorption source of winter wheat: winter wheat mainly uses 0-60 cm of soil to store water during the growth period. For irrigation with an irrigation quota of 90 mm, only 69.07% of the irrigation water storage will be stored in the main root absorber of 0-60 cm, and more than 30% of the irrigation water will be lost and difficult to be used by crops. Because the irrigation depth should be fully considered to match the main root absorbent layer, the study recommends that the planned irrigation depth of winter wheat in the high and low furrow cultivation mode should not exceed 60 cm.

The College of Resources and Environment of Northwest A&F University has made progress in the elimination of microcystis aeruginosa in water bodies

Microcystis aeruginosa is the most common dominant algae species in cyanobacterial blooms, with strong vitality and reproductive ability, and will produce a large number of algal organic matter and secrete microcystins with hepatotoxicity, neurotoxicity, skin irritation and nephrotoxicity during its growth and reproduction. These algal organic compounds and toxins pose a great threat to the aquatic ecological environment and human health, the study proposes the use of a new medium to block the discharge plasma system to remove microcystemis aeruginosa in water, studied the inactivation efficiency of the system on microcystemis aeruginosa and the degradation effect of intracellular organic matter and toxins released during inactivation, and finally revealed the mechanism of this method to eliminate microcystems aeruginosa and metabolic by-products in water.

Huazhong Agricultural University has made new progress in improving the salt tolerance of rapeseed by seeding cerium oxide nanoparticles

In the study, the researchers synthesized polyacrylic modified cerium oxide nanoparticles (PNC) with low Ce3+/Ce4+ doping ratios. Rapeseed was induced by PNC for 8 hours, which significantly improved the germination rate, fresh weight and water absorption of rapeseed under salt stress (200 mM NaCl). The results proved that PNC improved the germination ability of rapeseed seeds under salt stress by relieving oxidative stress and maintaining ionic balance. This study further demonstrates the good application potential of plant nanobiotechnology in improving crop stress resilience, and also shows that interdisciplinary has the potential to provide new research alternatives or technical solutions for scientific problems in research practice production.

Since the implementation of the project in October 2018, focusing on the problems of single water lily varieties and backward seedling breeding research in Guangxi, the selection and breeding of new varieties of water lilies with food appreciation and use, the research on seedling breeding technology, the collection and preservation of germplasm resources and the analysis of genetic diversity have been carried out, 63 water lily germplasm resources have been collected, 2505 square meters of water lily germplasm resources garden has been established, and 7189 square meters of water lily variety breeding base has been built. 206,000 water lily seedlings were bred, and a cultivation base of new and old water lilies of the food and appreciation type was built for 18.62 mu.

The expert group conducted on-site inspection of the project through on-site inspection, listening to reports, checking relevant materials, etc., and unanimously agreed that the results of the verification met the requirements of the assessment indicators, and the project successfully passed the on-site verification.
