The results of the 2023 Outstanding Cases of Social Responsibility and Social Welfare have been released

The "Social Responsibility and Social Welfare Outstanding Case Selection Activity" initiated by the Shanghai Internet Industry Federation has recently ended. A total of 7 Special Contribution Awards (Enterprises), 25 Outstanding Case Awards, 11 Media Social Responsibility and Social Welfare Awards were produced in this selection, and 50 cases were shortlisted for the Outstanding Case Selection.

Two media groups, including Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Culture Radio, Film and Television Group, as well as five companies, including Shanghai miHoYo Network Technology Co., Ltd., Lazas Information Technology Co., Ltd. (Ele.me), Xunmeng Information Technology Co., Ltd. (Pinduoduo), Alipay (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Ctrip Commerce Co., Ltd., won the Special Contribution Award.

In the digital era of complex and noisy information, Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Culture Radio, Film and Television Group have always adhered to the concept of professional and objective news, made full use of a variety of new media carriers and technologies, disseminated excellent culture and promoted mainstream values, injected a steady stream of positive energy into the society, and guided the public to think rationally in the massive information, giving full play to the indispensable role of mainstream media in the field of public opinion.

The Internet companies that won the Special Contribution Award also demonstrated their unique responsibilities, and achieved both economic and social benefits under the guidance of the strategy of "two grasps and two promotions". MiHoYo, Ele.me, Pinduoduo, Alipay, Ctrip and other companies have demonstrated diversified, multi-level, active and effective explorations in serving the overall situation of the country, alleviating current economic and social problems, serving the needs of the people, and helping Chinese culture go global.

In addition, 25 outstanding case awards were also selected in this event, covering Oriental Fortune, Guan'an Information, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, SenseTime, eBan, etc. These cases reflect the unique insights and positive actions of enterprises in many fields such as the protection of workers' rights and interests, the protection of consumers' rights and interests, platform governance, environmental protection, and social progress. Behind this is not only the pursuit of business success, but also reflects the deep awareness and conscious commitment of corporate social responsibility.

The selection was launched in early October this year, and more than 120 cases were received after multiple links such as solicitation, primary selection, and re-evaluation. Among them, 86 cases were shortlisted for re-evaluation through the preliminary evaluation, and interactive voting activities were carried out online. As of the deadline of 12 noon on December 13, the total number of interactive votes was 209,336. Under the voting and in-depth discussion of the final evaluation committee, combined with online voting, the final selection results were produced.

In order to ensure the orderly conduct of the overall selection, the evaluation framework is based on the theory and practice of scientific philanthropy, extracts the four general influencing factors of project planning, operation, effect and influence, and development sustainability, and comprehensively examines the problem solving, the actual number of people driven, the replicability and sustainability of the project. The event also invited representatives of government departments, mainstream media, university experts and representatives of the vice chairman of the Internet Federation to form a multi-level jury, aiming to solicit opinions from multiple parties and follow the principles of professional authority, fairness and justice to carry out the evaluation work.

Shanghai, China's most cosmopolitan city, is home to many companies and brands in the Internet sector. In order to showcase the excellent practices of enterprises in the field of social responsibility and cooperate with this selection, NetUnion plans to publish a compilation of excellent ESG cases in Shanghai's Internet industry in 2024 and release the "2023 White Paper on Social Responsibility and Social Welfare in Shanghai's Internet Industry" to encourage more enterprises to achieve both economic and social benefits.
