On the morning of December 20, more than 40 elderly people from the Zhonghe Street Social Worker Station and the volunteers of the "Weiai" Warm Heart Workshop of Chengxing Community presented a pair of handmade cotton shoes to the center.
These cotton shoes were hand-sewn by Aunt Li Wenqing, a 73-year-old resident of the community, who spent a year making more than 70 pairs and sending them to the community. Since 2012, Aunt Li Wenqing has entrusted her cotton shoes to the community every year to give them to people in need, and this insistence has been 12 years.

Li Wenqing is affectionately known as "Grandma Cotton Shoes", and in her spare time, her biggest hobby is knitting cotton shoes. It takes at least 3 to 4 days to get a pair of cotton shoes, and Aunt Li always smiles and says, "As long as someone needs it, I will continue to make it."

In 12 years, the cotton shoes of the elderly were sent to the Zhonggongmiao Nursing Home, Yinzhou Bomei Nursing Home, and sent to the sanitation workers, subway workers and front-line anti-epidemic personnel in the jurisdiction, and also held many charity sales, and all the proceeds were donated to the Yinzhou District Xiaoyudian Hearing and Language Rehabilitation Center and the community in need, up to now, more than 700 pairs of shoes have been sent by the grandmother of cotton shoes.
Influenced by her, the community established the "Micro Love" Warm Heart Workshop in 2017 to bring warmth and care to special families and children through long-term exchange activities such as knitting training, charity sales, and fundraising. In the past six years, the volunteer team has continued to expand, and there are about 20 permanent members.
