Nicole Hollis and John Lum Architecture have given a stylish and modern makeover of a Mediterranean-inspired home, replanning the structure and removing some of the walls to create a spacious, fluid living and dining area with wood flooring and charcoal grey stone sub-area flooring, and simple white paint on the walls, complemented by modern décor to make the space more artistic. Nicole Hollis and Walker Warner have teamed up to create Kua Bay, a family retreat overlooking the Pacific Ocean, which will offer spectacular views of both the volcanic landscape and the Pacific Ocean, taking the shape of the branches of the local indigenous Kiawe tree and exploring the verdant nature of the volcanic island. Nicole Hollis has reimagined this Hawaiian private home with an unexpected, all-in-one, completely modern design, which sits on a lava field on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.
